Other reviews are correct. This is a great place to meet for a coffee, beer, or light lunch. I visited on a Saturday afternoon. It was a little difficult to find a table - I had to sit somewhere that wasn’t bussed. The service setup makes things slow and a bit uncomfortable; you line up to order, there’s 1 coffee machine / barista, you wait for your food. Then you find a place to sit. It’s easy to see that the wide variety of drink choices makes it difficult for the staff to keep pace, and to avoid delays. I stood waiting for ~30 min; which didn’t bother me, but standing there, my completely unqualified view made it seem like small changes might have saved me from being uncomfortable. I’d still go back. $14 for a tasty freshly made sandwich and a large cappuccino, plus a $5 tip brought me to under $20 for lunch in a warm and cozy downtown place with friendly staff.
Great cafe. Loved the food and coffee. The ambiance was great and warm. Was affordable as well. Would recommend.
The one taking the order was an Asian lady. She was indifferent to us than other customers despite of the fact that we belong to the same country as her. Its really disheartening to see how she is so rude that she ruined the mood with which we entered this beautiful cafe.The coffee she served were different in quantities, when i mentioned the same to her, she responded with saying that these are different mugs. However you can clearly see that the cups are the same size. Reply to the owner:- We noticed that when we pointed out the discrepancy in the coffee quantity, her response was untruthful. As seen in the attached picture, the two cups are not equally filled I had a sip from one cup, while the other, which has less coffee, remains untouched.Aside from this issue, the overall experience was good. However, it seems that some employees at your cnafe could benefit from better training in customer service.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Last night my friends and I came here 30 min before closing time to get some hot beverages. The service we got was abysmal and rude. The overweight Indian girl that works there was very rude to us and gave us attitude the whole time we were there even though we told her we understand you close in 30 min. When it was time for the café to close, she could have politely informed us. Instead, she chose to communicate in a rude tone and exhibited unnecessary attitude by nodding her head in a disrespectful manner before turning away abruptly.nOn top of the terrible service from her, she also made our drinks terribly. The caramel macchiato was cold and the chai tea latte seemed like she dumped all the cinnamon she had in it.nHer demeanor made it evident that she was unhappy in her role, suggesting she might not be suited for the service industry. Wish we had the manager present so we could have spoken to her about the awful service from this girl. The other girl on the other hand who was sweeping and taking out the garbage was very pleasant to deal with.nYou would think after spending about $24 on a couple drinks and a slice of cake you would be treated with some respect.nVery disappointed in this experience.nRegards
Food hits the spot and everything is homemade in their own kitchen, not the processed crap that you will get at McDonald’s, Burger King, or Wendy’s! Anybody who is health conscious and looking for a good chai latte should consider this Australian and Canadian inspired cafe - Canadian cafe culture certainly dominates in Peterborough
