My husband and I came across Cookie Nook Bakery when looking for cupcakes for our wedding. I contacted her in July 2015 and we placed an order via email for 85 cupcakes. We met with her the day before our wedding in September 2015 and we payed her in full with a check. She continued to assure us that it was no problem, the cupcakes would be delivered in the morning and she knew where she was going (we even made arrangements with our venue so she could deliver the cupcakes at 8am instead of 3 pm). The day before our wedding she reassured us that the cupcakes were finished and all she had to do was finish the frosting.
The day of the wedding, my mother went to the venue to double check on things and make sure all the vendors where there. The cupcakes were a no-show. My mother attempted to get a hold of her all morning and afternoon asking for our cupcakes. However with her not responding and the no show, my mothers quick thinking got us two lovely cakes from a nearby bakery that happened to have extra.
My husband and I received an email the morning of our wedding which we did not open until after our festivities. The email was from her written by her son, Zach, saying that she was in an accident and did not complete our cupcake order and that it would not be there.
She promised us a full refund and it is now October 2016 and we have still not received our refund. She said she sent it in the mail and that it had been cashed (however neither my husband nor I have seen or any mail or cashed any check from Vanessa).
Vanessa has been very difficult to talk to and it is clear in our interactions with her that she is extremely unorganized and a poor businesswomen. We expressed our sympathy to her and have been very nice considering she was in a car accident, however she has failed to give us our promised refund.
I highly recommend steering clear of Cookie Nook Bakery. Our experience has been nothing but unusual and unprofessional. Look into Slice of Eden in Bar Harbor, or even the Hannaford Bakery, as they both provided excellent last minute service on our wedding day.

I had contracted to use this place for my wedding cake back in 2013. Well it is 2016 and still waiting to see that cake. She did not show up at all the day of the wedding with the cake. Multiple phone calls and people going to her home and place of business showed everything was closed for a month. The next day we got a hold of her only for her to say we sent an email saying the wedding was cancelled (I am married so definitely not married). She refused to refund our money despite having no cancellation clause in the contract. And it if you think we did not confirm. We did on the Thursday before when we picked up cookies for the welcome bag.
