We have found since they stopped taking walk-ins that even if you’ve been to this location over a dozen times when they DID take walk-ins, that they will not let you see a Dr here. It’s unfortunate because we used this clinic a lot when we first moved to Richmond and didn’t have a primary care Dr. Overall though, our experiences at this location were mostly good.
I was suffering from an allergic reaction and went to urgent care because I could not get into see anyone from my GP’s office. Even though I was having trouble breathing, urgent care told me it would be 4-6 hour wait and that if I went to the ER I would probably be waiting longer. I was panicking because there was no way I could sit in the waiting room at urgent care for 4-6 hours with no medicine. I googled walk in clinics in the area and this office came up. I called and I told the receptionist my situation that I was having an allergic reaction and my throat feels tight but it doesn’t feel like an emergency, just urgent. He said we don’t take walk ins but if you have been here before, we can fit you in if it’s urgent. Thankfully I had been to that office a few years back. I raced over, and within an hour I was seeing a doctor and getting an IM diphenhydramine injection. I really appreciate the quick service I got from the MOA and doctor. I was extremely uncomfortable and they took me seriously and cared for me. I am grateful.
Dr. Stepan Vostretsov is a great and experienced professional. Ver calm, and great approach to your concern. The office itself is a typical walk in clinic. Not very friendly staff, outdated office and etc. Takes forever to see doctors but this doctor is excellent.
They advertise on their website that they take walk-ins, but as soon as you get there the door has a sign saying no walk-ins. Please update the website.
If it was possible I would rate 0 stars. My grandparents are aging and they need to physically see the doctor to get adequate care. The receptionists are beyond rude. She told my grandmother that "if she didn't like the clinic she should switch doctors." Booking an appointment is very difficult due to the poor attitude of the receptionist, if a certain date doesn't work then they will reluctantly offer a different date, but not before getting mad that the original date offered didn't work for you. This is an extremely unprofessional way to speak to people. This is very disappointing for a doctor's office to allow their staff speak to patients in this manner. Then turn it around saying the patient booking the appointment has ruined their day.
I've been going to Dr. Remer with my family for the past 5 years. He has a great sense of humour, is very attentive to your worries and answers any questions you have. It's always a busy location, because of few doctors and 1 or 2 receptionists, but they try their best.
Worst experience ever.. the doctor literally told me to leave and to go to a different doctor..
Avoid. Please avoid this place. The receptionists have no idea how to talk to people. They are extremely rude and will push you down the queue if you ask them why other people are given priority. My appointment was at 11, and when I turned up, they told me it was at 11.45. I was then made to wait another hour just to go inside the room. Waiting for doctor took another 50 minutes. I could see people coming in and going straight to the waiting room just bcoz they knew the receptionist. I wasted my full day and ultimately had to take a day off. I don't think it was worth it. To the owners of this place : please please pay attention to what is happening at the reception. Please tell them that patients need an exact appointment so they can come at that time only, why waste other people energy and time?
I was referred to this clinic by a lab technician after I got very bad experience from my own family doctor. I didn't give much credit to this walk-in clinic before, but my exp there was very positive. The front desk asked me to came back in 45 minutes for a thorough checkup, which was nothing comparing with I had to wait for more than a week for an appointment with my previous GP, and the doctor Dr. Stepan Vostretsov was very nice and friendly, with professional attitude, I would highly recommend!
Don't know about other reviewers and their concept of wait time in clinics, but coming from Vancouver Downtown I got used to at least 2 hours wait time. If you a walk-in patient you wait at east one hour in any medical clinic in GVA. Now as for the doctor: I had one of the best experience since moving from North Vancouver 6 years ago. I got checked, listened to, explained everything, and sent for further checks. The receptionist was extremely kind and fast. So, that is my experience. I will definitely be coming back when in Richmond area.
