This is an excellent store. The staff really know their stuff - and are really friendly and welcoming - they stock excellent quality supplies, and they offer great additional services if you create a free account, like loyalty points and free knife sharpening. Yes, it's expensive, but they believe in the products they stock, and have some good sale areas and mid-range products too. If you like cooking and want high-quality products or even just advice in a low-pressure sales environment, check this place out.
They moved out of their storefront location - maybe just while it’s being renovated?? I’m not sure! A little hard to find now, but found it in the end! You need to go into the building lobby left of Murchies and through to the back left corner. It’s a back room. I love that by giving them your contact info you can get free knife sharpening - even if you didn’t buy the knives there! They have an excellent selection and the prices are good for a brick & mortar. The staff are helpful!
Regardless of the very poor treatment I received when coming in to pick up yet another order I will continue to support your business. I came in and asked to for the use of a wastebasket and was told that there wasn’t one. How peculiar considering I dress well by anyones standard for a chef and I’m well spoken and affable much of the time. May I suggest that when hiring international employees you articulate our local standards. I am of Afro-American decent, but I didn’t necessarily get a racist vibe, just a “you may not be a customer” vibe, if that makes sense.
Absolutely love your store. Amazing customer service and knowledge in cookware. I appreciate the great selection of quality cookware that last a lifetime. Keep being a Vancouver institution! Kudos to the nice European lady that helped me today!
Got a ginger, apple, cucumber and some fresh juice for $10 and it was amazing. From the outside, the establishment looks like a cooking hardware store, but they are so much more. They hold cooking classes on one side, and now an organic juice bar in the front. Im going to try some other combinations that I normally wouldn’t have at home. Great spot! Great location!
Went for a cooking class with colleagues. Had a great time. Your allowed to bring your own wine from home to drink while eating. Cooking classes are very dynamic and engaging. Chef was great at answering questions. Best part was the bread from scratch.
Great cooking store, took a Thai cooking class, and the instruction was great, the food was simple to make and delicious, and a very fun atmosphere!
Amazing store and fantastic cooking classes. I went to Cook Culture for their pasta making workshop which was so fun, informative and action packed. The store itself is filled with "things you didn't know you needed" and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant.
This store is quite huge and has a long of the finer expensive kitchen goodies but I also got some Cuisipro popsicle molds so there is some wiggle room when it comes to shopping. The clerks were very nice and when I asked if I could take photographs they said yes which was awesome. I am definitely going to go back!
Staff is very helpful. Cookware products are generally better quality. One would need to justify or budget for spending on some of the higher end products. I recently purchased the Fields cast iron pan. Turns out to be well worth the price. Everything about the pan is fantastic, functionally and esthetically. The price from $USD to $CDN is about right. The leather handle protective cover works like a charm, recommend buying this. First photo is after two uses. Second photo is after five days of usage and seasoning. Already water repelling and nonstick. This is now my daily plan in my hierarchy of good pans.
