They simply lost my passport by sending it to another person while putting his photo in my passport. Last time visiting Italy.
They are very quick with email response and are very helpful. I had millions of questions, but they answered all with zero wait time. I am resident of Ontario and I was not sure if I can apply through Montreal as there are no appointment available till December in Ontario region. And they were able to help me and mention that I am not eligible to apply at the Montreal location. The fact that they instantly replied without wasting any time, tells me that they are very professional and respect peoples time. I am very glad to interact with them. Thank you so much for all your help.
Failure on all levels, no answer phone or email, no appointments no updates slow website nothing 0/5
Hadn't been to this consulate since 1996 for a passport request. Was pleasantly surprised to see a lot has changed for the better since then. For starters, the website is highly informative. Was able to request fiscal codes for multiple people with ease, via email. These requests were processed within the same week Thank you, Marzio! Also had to visit the consulate personally a couple of days later to get a document authenticated/notarized. Again... made an appointment with ease online and all was completed quickly and efficiently Thank you, Laura! Only minor hick-up was that they only accept cash so I had to skip out to a nearby ATM. In any case, the overall experience was an extremely positive one. Their "by appointment only" model helps ensure that there are no crowds when you arrive. Big thanks to John at reception for keeping me entertained while I waited to be called for my appointment consulates can be intimidating places at times but he does his best to put you at ease. Thanks to this experience, I no longer have the fear of God in me when having to deal with Italian bureaucracy. Here's my advice for helping ensure a positive experience with this consulate: 1 Consult the website. Everything you need is there including forms and detailed instructions. 2 Submit requests online whenever possible and communicate via email rather than calling. 3 In cases where you have to visit the consulate, respect your appointment time don't show up more than 15 minutes early. 4 Be nice. If you're nice to them they'll be nice to you.
Amazing service! The best ever. I sent an email 2.14 PM and 2. 47 PM dame day, Francesca call me to address my question. Thanks a million Francesca for your great and incredible help!
They respond quickly. Thank a lot Marie-France Lemire for professional and great help.
I've been trying to get in contact with them for at least 3 weeks now regarding my appointment for my passport. I finally got someone to email me back for her to tell me that my appointment wasn't registered in their system...thinking I would be able to send my application directly to her to see if she can maybe help me, its been a week and no response by email...I have been trying to call for the past week and again there is no answer! the next available appointment is in May and I can't wait that long and every time I try to make another appointment its telling me that I tried to many times.
Since it's very busy, it took a long time to book an appointment for my passport 2 months! But once there, the staff was nice and they renewed my passport really quickly.
This consulate has the rudest and most incompetent staff I've ever encountered. Passport services and citizenship is important work but they behave like they are teenagers working their first job at a Tim Hortons or something. Actually, they are worse than a Tim Hortons because I've had occasional great service at Tim Hortons where as every interaction I've had with this consulate has been terrible. The staff at this consulate ignore emails, rarely pick up the phone, and when they do pick up the phone they are unhelpful and refuse to take messages. I was born in Montreal but I've lived in Vancouver for years. The Vancouver consulate is a breeze and extremely efficient, polite, and competent. The Montreal office has no excuse for their behaviour and they are an embarrassment to their people. Every time I interact with this consulate, I feel ashamed for being from Montreal and of Italian origin.
Took three weeks and many calls and I was still not able to talk with someone regarding my passport application. I was told they would have contacted me in 10 days maximum. I kept calling and they kept sending me to other internal offices, and no one ever picked up the phone. It is really frustrating!
