Story

You can find your way to Conserve School if you feel a strong attachment to the natural world and are motivated to conserve it. The Lowenstine Honors Scholarship program will ensure you can afford it.

This semester-long immersion in environmental studies and outdoor activities deepens ones' love of nature, reinforces their commitment to conservation, and equips them to take meaningful action as environmental stewards.

The program interweaves college-preparatory academics with:

--> the study of environmental history, nature literature, and the science of conservation,
--> environmental service work,
--> exploration of careers related to conservation,
--> training in teamwork and leadership, and
--> engagement with the outdoors.

Designed primarily for high school juniors, Conserve School incorporates the flexibility to accommodate advanced sophomores.

Conserve School students become part of a community that heightens their sense of identity and self-worth and imparts the confidence they need to go forward and make a difference, not only as stewards of the environment, but also as stewards of their own destinies.

The Lowenstine Honors Scholarship program assures that this opportunity is affordable. The scholarship covers full tuition, room, and board. A phenomenal educational experience. This semester school facilitates the love of learning and fosters environmental stewardship. My son is currently attending and has grown academically, socially, and emotionally. The staff are world class educators and come from various backgrounds which give them unique world views. So fortunate to have found this gem in the Northwoods.

My daughter attended CS11. It's the single most formative experience she has had so far. It fostered her self-confidence and independence. It helped her plan her future. She came home with a list of colleges she wants to apply to, and a career path she wants to pursue. She met fellow students from all over the country and has stayed in touch with several of them. The teachers and staff were amazing. I can't sing the praises of Conserve School enough.

Our daughter had the gift of a lifetime last spring attending Conserve School. It was an amazing learning experience wrapped up with bonding with 60 other students, exploring the north woods, and coming away with an even greater commitment to preserving the earth's natural beauty. The only negative, if there is one, is that it is very hard to leave the school at the end of the semester!

Conserve School has given our son focus, confidence and relationships around the country that continue to shape his life. We are incredibly grateful that Conserve is part of his life and ours. Both his siblings want to go!

Our daughter is loving her experience at Conserve School. I can't say enough about how great the staff has been. My only wish is they would open a summer school for adults.
