The oldest synagogue in North America is beautiful! Despite the unfortunate actions of some nutters who have tried to harm the building, the synagogue remains serene.
My family enjoys coming to this synagogue and would become members if we lived closer.
Great congregation, absolutely stunning place. Friendly staff
The Shaar is my refuge in Montreal. Although I have yet to join, my family and friends are members. My nephew Josh still sings in the Choir on High Holy Days, though he moved to Toronto. It is time for me to join the Shaar's congregate family. I am single, over 70. I was moved by so much of last eve's Yom HaSho'ah remembrance.

Amazing people and such a well kept place. My favorite spot in the city.
Whether you love to hear a solid sermon or sit and back in the musical cantorial masterpieces sung by an international Cantor. The shaar is a beautiful building. Friendly and warm people. I will certainly be back soon!
Very nice shul and Hall. Very energetic and serious Rabbi is in leadership.
Beautiful! It's the perfect place for barmistva and other kind of meeting or religious celebration. Their collection of artefact and relic is incredible, I wish I had time to look at them more closely.
