Congdon's Doughnuts

It must be great to stand behind such an amazing product, and I bet the folks behind the counter have seen just about everything. Or almost everything...until I pulled out my loyalty card and handed it to the woman taking my order. I sheepishly explained to her that the triangle shapes cut out of the card were picks I fashioned for my patients to play the guitar with. She did not bat an eyelash and commended me on sparing the member number. I put it back in my wallet, somewhat hobbled but carrying a few precious points more toward my next dozen.

You haven't had a good donut until you've been here, and there's nothing else that needs to be said. Is there usually a line in the summer? Of course, but that's because they're better than everyone else and have been for decades. I've been coming here more than 10 years and will do so as long as I can.

It really is that good. Many places are overrated but Congdon's lives up to it's reputation. Prices might be a dollar or two higher than in other dinners, but food is superior in quality and totally worth every penny. Staff is super-friendly, they try to seat you as quickly as possible. At the doughnut county my daughters where in awe if the baker's work and got a free sample of freshly made whoopee pies. Walked out happy and satisfied.

Great selection of very good donuts. Good, responsive service. If the weather is good, consider getting some donuts/breakfast and heading to a beach for sunrise. It's not far and makes for a great start to the day.

Always a great breakfast! Lobster Benedict is amazing but can't go wrong with any menu picks. Friendly staff. Usually a wait for breakfast on the weekends. Fantastic donuts as well.
