Was looking into the Culinary Co-op Program beginning this September and was corresponding with the Student Recruitment Advisor about joining, who shared links about the requirements to do so, but other than the cost of over $7,000, there was nothing provided about the upcoming class schedule, which is essential information to have, no matter who the prospective student is. I am a father of two and looking for a career change, but I need to be able to provide and be present for my kids who are still in school and have very specific, if not demanding, schedules, and if I cannot coordinate around their timetables or rearrange our schedules in advance, how and why would I commit to a program, whose advisor’s response to my dilemma was, “Monday to Sunday, 8am-10pm, and the specific schedule will not be released until payment is received for the course.” When l responded that it would not be possible to join the course without that information, I did not receive any further reply or communication to assist with this issue. Upon further examination of the co-op program, the website does make it clear that a co-op placement is not guaranteed, and it is solely up to the student and availability at that respective time. Life is hard, and it seems to be getting even harder for those trying to make a living and provide, but these false hopes and obvious cash-grabs have to be stopped, and every school at every level needs to operate with complete transparency, especially before those with extremely limited means invest everything they have and then some, at the expense of those closest to them, as well, dive in fully and realize there is nothing secure for them to survive in this greedy abyss.nnSchools today can be equated to casinos, in which the house always wins, because they are aware of the scholarships and grants being offered by the government and local industries, and it is no coincidence that these programs end up costing the exact amount for which a student is eligible, and when it seems the prospective student has complications or reservations about joining, the recruitment officer disregards his or her hopeful intention as similarly as a used car salesperson would after judging one’s appearance.nn*Do your own research and background check into the school, the program, and what is being offered before spending a dime, and remember that everyone seemingly helping you is really helping him- or herself first.
This is the worst customer service experience I have experienced in Canada. I went to Conestoga University Waterloo to request for help with obtaining my Letter Of Completion. I was asked to talk to Nala not sure the spelling, I assume she is my African sister. I explained myself very well and was just asking how to go about it and for clarity as I would not like to submit a wrong file for my PGWP.nI received full attitude from her and didn’t even do anything to her or come at her the wrong way. She wasn’t even eager to help she just said ,” If the screen says its the letter then its the letter.” She couldn’t even look at the screen yet she claims she couldn’t see the writing. Like how can you see my screen if you have your glasses removed from your face and won’t bother looking at the screen Nala??
I had a bad experience. As an international student, I felt a lot of stress. Some staff members didn’t treat international students fairly and seemed to prefer local students. They didn’t listen to our concerns and were sometimes rude or unhelpful. I also felt that a few people were racist, which made the experience even more difficult.
Great ambience and reading environment. School is well organized and has efficient personnel
I attended this campus before taking a different program at the Doon location it was a great experience studying here and I learned many valuable skills. Most of the professors were a pleasure to work with some were knowledgeable but not great teachers. Overall, I would recommend studying at this campus.
