Community Legal Aid Services Inc

I'm a disabled U S Navy Veteran from the Vietnam War era living below poverty level and I've had 2 (two) unsuccessful attempts to utilize Summit County of Ohio Community Legal Aid Services. The first was in 2015 when I was in desperate need of a defense attorney for a civil suit. I waited over a month for an appointment with Kimberly Adams. I got all of 11 seconds of her time...just long enough for her to tell me "WE DON'T DO THOSE KINDS OF CASES"!! Thank you very much Kimberly Adams and Community Legal Aid....they hung me out to dry. Needless to say I was railroaded in MEDINA MUNICIPAL COURT and now have a judgement against me. Now the second time was January 2018. My VA LSW (Licensed Social Worker) made me an appointment for February 16th. AGAIN, my appointment was with Kimberly Adams. Unfortunately, a familiar name! I told her I needed an attorney to file for me a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy so I could get a clean fresh start in life. Kimberly Adams said get back to me in a week. I need to check some things. I called her and called her and called her three weeks straight leaving messages everytime. I never received a call from her. After four weeks I finally received a call from her associate Jodi Roberts. Jodi said to me, "here's how we can help you". "We can give you material explaining to you how to file your own Charter 7". I don't have a law degree!! I'm not an attorney!! COMMUNITY LEGAL AID is totally worthless in my book and a total waste of time. Worthless people in a worthless service. HEY, JODI ROBERTS, I SEE YOU LEFT A REVIEW HERE. DID KIMBERLY ADAMS GIVE YOU A BIG PAY RAISE FOR THAT??

The only legal hope for lower income families in the county and they are completely worthless. Why would a lawyer work cheap or free when they can extort thousands from the public that can't afford legal help.

The staff is amazing. They work very hard to help people navigate a complex legal system.

I was not able to get the help I was hoping for but it was not a total waste I suppose.

Was told they don't deal with commercial business issues .. so how are you to seek legal aid if you don't have the funds?
