Community Bank

When you come to Grafenwoehr God help you, there are two choices for banking. Community Bank and the Credit Union. I chose this bank because I am a BOA customer and this one is affiliated with them. My experience with the people at the bank has been entirely positive. They have always been cheerful and ready to help. However, recently there have been issues with the online banking. In particular, when I want to add a Payee, the confirmation email can sometimes take hours to be received. You can only use this bank while you are stationed at Graf. They do have an IBAN number which is handy to pay your automatic bills. When you leave you can no longer use this bank, but you can get a 90 day 'extension' to pay off your German bills. Everything is more difficult in Germany. Everything. Banking is no exception. I can say that the pain level of banking here was lower than most every other aspect of my life...but nevertheless, this bank wouldn't last 90 days in the States. Just be ready for it. P.S. - For added fun they are closed on both US and German holidays, which means roughly 29 business days a year.

This is not a good bank. The manager had horrible customer service. Basically didn't care about customer at all. I guess because they know they will get lots of customers because it's on a military base. Ridiculous fees for things that are out of your hands. Would not recommend this bank.
