On a frigid day in February we decided to go to the Commonwealth Air Museum. What a treat, to be greeted by a very nice gentleman who offered us the hospitality of the museum. To actually see up close these fragile aircraft and to learn something of the young men who rose to the call. It boggles the mind to think that young men, hardly started in life would elect to place their lives on the line in these flimsy little planes made of wood, canvas and metal. It was a humbling experience. Makes one wonder if there would be the same resolve today to defend our freedom if called upon. Definitely worth a visit , a real piece of living history.

An excellent way to spend a couple hours learning about the history of this Canadian War Effort. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with great displays and well labelled.

as a ww2 air war history buff this place is it as it's the only museum dedicated to the Empire air training scheme known better as the British commonwealth air training plan the staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable as to the exhibits and artifacts in the museum which is housed in a artifact it's self a hangar built for the bcatp in 1940 and housed on a airport built for the plan

This is a nice way to spend a couple of hours. An interesting experience and important part of our history. Worth taking a little drive out to see. Kids would love it and there are airplanes they can sit in. Lots of historical information and facts, old letters and names of people that served. Excellent for school trips in my opinion. A small souvenir shop. And a nice day out.
