LOVE their Pecan Pie, Beinenstich and Sacher Torte slices, excellent vanilla slices as well. Their sunflower rye bread is one of a kind. Wonderful treats from Germany at Christmas...and excellent products year round. Excellent bakery. Guess we've been lucky as their staff have always been friendly albeit super busy.
Simply amazing... try the vanilla slice or the strawberry tart! Grab something to go or dine in. There is a lot of space to enjoy a sandwich, baked masterpiece and tea or coffee with your friends and family. A Nanaimo gem.
Went there with my German friend. We loved it so much. Great service and selection of breads and sweets. Very friendly staff. Cosy atmosphere. Will visit again!
Writing this based on a conversation with my mother who buys bread there. Products are very good but counter staff ....well, rudeness upon rudeness! Questions are answered with raised voice "NO!" and other irritated monosyllabic responses and my mother said she felt like she had been slapped in the face for just placing a simple order. Everyone understands staff shortage but for heavens sake, don't take it out on longstanding patrons!
Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. Place was absolutely cooking hot. Felt quite bad for the ladies working but they were still patient and friendly. Huge selection of food.. many hard choices to make. Would love to try more in the future
Still has covid protocols in place. Allowed me to phone ahead to place an order for pickup. Friendly service and affordable prices. Some of the best pretzels I've ever had.
Great tasting food when you can get it. Ensure to get there before 10am as they don’t usually make enough desserts daily to meet demand, and depending on who you get, most of the staff are a bit rude. 5/5 food, 1/5 service, overall 3 stars.

4 generations of my family have been coming here for the last 50 years. From my Opa to my 2 young daughters, it’s always a pleasure to go in with the comfortable atmosphere and unchanged recipes. Thanks for the hospitality over the years
