enrolled my chick in School with high hopes, but the experience was a disappointment from start to finish. The administration lacked communication, the facilities were run-down, and the teaching quality was subpar. The curriculum felt outdated, and the overall atmosphere was uninspiring. After attending here for 4 years, I must express my deep dissatisfaction with Ecole Salish Secondary School. To be succinct, this school is a terrible example of an educational institution and Surrey Schools as a whole.nnMost of the faculty members of Ecole Salish Secondary School are seemingly uninterested in providing a quality education to their students. The curriculum is haphazardly designed, lacking cohesion and coherence. The teachers themselves are unimpressive, displaying an inability to effectively communicate subject matter and engender interest in their students. Some teachers are excluded from this paragraph, and you know who you are. And to that I say thank you. With all my gratitude.nnThe facilities provided by Ecole Salish Secondary School are subpar at best. The infrastructure is covered in glass and most often cracked. Along with poor ventilation, covered in cement therefore providing a weak signal across the school. Good luck getting in contact with your child when the internet is down. And an overall unwelcoming atmosphere. The school's resources are insufficient, including embarrassingly outdated technology where it is practically impossible to 3D animate. The internet is also extremely unreliable and the school relies on it too much. Once it goes down. The students practically cannot learn anything until it is back up.nnThe administrative team is similarly disappointing, exhibiting a lack of leadership, support, and concern for the well-being of their students. Any attempts to voice concerns or seek help from school authorities are met with indifference, leaving students and their families feeling unheard and unsupported. One student is unable to take the math course he wants because the administrative team were unable to come up with a schedule for his needs. And the excuse for this was there was no more room in the class. Making this young adult suffer taking the course online so he can get the education he wants for the future.nnIn conclusion, I strongly advise prospective students and parents to avoid Ecole Salish Secondary School. This institution does not prioritize quality education, nor does it offer a conducive environment for academic growth and development. It is a regrettable waste of our tax money and resources, and a disservice to any student who desires a meaningful educational experience. Construction of École Salish Secondary began in late 2016 and was completed in 2018. École Salish Secondary opened in September 2018 and was named after the local Salish peoples who are indigenous to the area. Its first students were mostly former students from Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary and Clayton Heights Secondary. Its first principal was Sheila Hammond, the former principal of Johnston Heights Secondary School. As of June 2019, it was the Surrey School District's least-crowded secondary school. It currently has around 1000 students.
