Very good coffee, a lovely spot. Got the cortado, I'm not sure if it was just how it was prepared or the quality of Bean but it was amazing probably both if I'm honest. Got some of their baked goods and they were also very nice, highly reccomend the havarti and green onion scone.
I love coffee shack! They treat their customers and staff like a freshly baked scone, tender and full of intention and love. Their coffee is quite good, they have put a tremendous amount of work into their business in the last year or so. Don't trust those negative reviews from one time consumers, the locals all really enjoy this island own and operated business. I will keep supporting them because they are awesome and we should be supporting great local businesses! Scones for life.
Such a lovey cafe, the family that runs it are absolutely lovey! My partner and I went there for a coffee and reading spot, the atmosphere was great! And coffee and scones were delicious and still warm when we got them, fresh from the oven. Had no idea about this lovely spot, would definitely check it out!Recommended dishesFresh Made Scones
When you come up to the counter the feeling is welcoming and you just know you are treating yourself to something special. If you are on the go you will find what you need in the ready-made case of sandwich offerings and the carefully crafted beverages made to order. I recommend always to get a sweet treat whether you want one or not and make time to enjoy it then and there or later in your day. Their baked goods are amazing and pair well with any of their drinks or sandwiches. To stay and sit on the patio to enjoy the goods is even more of an experience with modern lounge music encouraging you to stay awhile and enjoy island time. When you bring a guest to check out this place that you love ..... well, the pride that you feel when you’ve turned someone on to this place that you can share? For some reason, this place becomes the place that you can call our place on the island. If you thought you were stopping into some shack on an island you will be impressed with how the shack is an OASIS & has matured from the beginnings on a busy highway down island to this alternate route up-island off the busy bustling fast-paced route where if you’ve got time. If you’ve got time to enjoy the seashore coastal route up and down island then you’ll have time to stop in and enjoy the finer things that they have in store for you. This place is non-corporate and locally owned and operated by a wonderful family that you can easily get on a first-name basis as they take time to know their clients and neighbours. Their staff is wonderfully communicating the pride of ownership and teamwork required to stay open to serve the community that comes and goes daily. Rain or shine the shack will shelter you with hospitality and exceed your expectations.
New to area. Tried them out. No decaf? No dark roast? Had an americano which was mediocre. Baked goods were at least day old. Not very well cleaned seating areas. Will not recommend or go back.
Disappointed in the food. There were no vegan breakfast options, so we settled on two day-oldbut not advertised as day-old breakfast sandwiches at $8.00 a pop, and one of them had rotten brown avocado that had to be returned. They returned it with minimal hassle which was appreciated although as we drove off discovered I was shortchanged by $.25-likely a mistake, but one that didn’t add to the overall experience. A suggestion that may be helpful is to sell day-olds at a discount ideally not with avocado as it browns quite quickly and offer fresh sandwiches at full price.
Wow! I dropped by because I was in the area, and they service delicious coffee Americano. Better than most city cafes. Very friendly too. I'd give it 5 stars, except the patio area and area beyond it is rather like a construction site / septic field -looking area. If they landscaped this, it would be a lot nicer.
Great coffee. Took one of the coffees advised by the barista. The foam is like velvet. Great rich taste. Definitely worth the visit!
Brand new coffee shop that just opened in sunny Saltair along Chemainus Road. So far so good as this is a prime location for locals, tourists, cyclists and even hikers/runners on the nearby Canada Great Trail. The building is open and inviting in a very west coast feel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, my dirty chai latte was great. Coffee Shack has only been open 3 days now and from the look of things will be a much loved location popular with the locals. It should also be noted they have a gelato partnered business that just opened in the same location sharing the space. So for now let’s shoot for a 5 out of 5 and see where things go.
My wife and I loved everything about this place: Clear menu with Coffee, Not Coffee, and Healthy items clearly separated; delicious selection of freshly baked and day old discounted items; helpful staff; and a nice outdoor seating area with couches and toys. It's not often that we can have a relaxing date at a café with our toddler. Coffee Shack is definitely worth taking a Sunday Drive to go see!
