If you love chocolate this is the place to stop by! The drinking chocolate is delicious and creamy. They have handcrafted ice cream sandwiches and lots of yummy chocolate as well. Try the hazelnut chocolate bar, the smores chocolate, or pick up some of the fancy imported bars they have around the shop. Staff are super friendly.
Always a delicious experience here especially if you are a chocoholic. You can come in to enjoy a hot drinking chocolate and dessert or a latte drink and pastry. There are gourmet chocolate bars, mini chocolates and huge peanut butter cups so you can nibble on a few with your hot chocolate or buy some for a gift. The staff here are very knowledgeable so if you're not sure which drinking chocolate or dessert to try they can give you their solid suggestions. My favorite dessert here is the German chocolate and it's extremely filling and rich so skip lunch if that's your poison. After a cold walk in the Gold coast it's relaxing to just enjoy a got chocolate and in the summer the frozen chocolate drinks are just as good and you can sit outside when the weather allows!
We did paid street parking close-by. Not a five star review only because they don’t have enough seats. The tables close to the window were so close to each other, it was hard to have a conversation with my gf. I had the butterscotch Chai latte, it was so delicious. The pastry was also yum.Recommended dishesFresh-Baked Pastries, Chai Spiced
Best gourmand hot chocolate ever, melting, creamy and delicious! Although we are difficult to please and have been searching for years for a true cup of hot chocolate, this shop and their handcrafted hot chocolates were worth the search. Cannot be compared to any store-bought hot "chocolate" mixes or the terrible syrups from Starbucks, which are way too sweet and have nothing to do with genuine cocoas and tasty cups of high-quality hot chocolate. Plus, the owner and her staff are also very friendly. So, if you love chocolate and know your classics, we highly recommend this store!
For any and all chocolate lovers, this store is a nested shrine to cocoa. In this area, I don’t think another place could compare. I went in to try a coffee and pastry, as I was curious about the chocolate selection but wasn’t in the mood to drink chocolate. Since the store’s a bit small, the layout and flow is a little awkward with distancing in place. Nevertheless, had a slightly higher priced latte than I was used to typical of La Colombe imo and a very very good, unique pastry! As much as the pastry was delicious, I didn’t have a great experience. The first employee, though I was the only customer, was quite unhelpful and felt disinterested in answering any of my questions. It was hard to read or discern the menu for all the food and drink options. Thank goodness a second employee appeared to help me and recommend something to eat. As a chocolate store, I am excited by all the drinkable chocolate items! However, if I’m to visit again, it would be for those items specifically. Did not feel like I was welcome to explore the options available, even though I was a lone customer in the store.
My go-to spot for hot cocoa in the winter, and a great place for chocolate treats year-round!Food: 5/5
Great coffee, but the empanada is the real star! I think it’s the best thing I’ve had since I got to Chicago a few days ago.
Recommend: different hot chocolates are great, had many times- last few months though the consistency has varied from being richer taste to a bit more watered down, and any food item that got here so far has been great as well.Food: 5/5
this place is cute but very expensive. i got a variety of valentines candy from their selection, which look great don’t get me wrong, but my total was $70 which was pretty shocking. also, not sure if there was just some training going on, but a manager was hovering over everything the staff was doing and micro managing them, which was a bit awkward.
Wanted hot cocoa on a cold winter day. Hit the spot. Had the Mayan Magic with cinnamon, nutmeg and chilies. Delicious!
