Gave them a deposit but didn't end up buying a vehicle from them due to financial reasons. It's been 2 weeks and they still have not refunded my deposit nor responded to my email. They seemed nice at first hence the 2 stars.
A friend of mine, and his mother bought a car from there, and all they have had is trouble with the vehicle. It's good to know it's ok to rip seniors off, that are on a fixed income. I told my friend to contct the better business bureau, and the ministry of transportation, for a fake certification they got. I hope Coates gets what they deserve.
I had a tire that was going flat quickly. Tried another repair shop who was booking out for the following week. They suggested that I should go to Coates. Was warmly greeted by Michelle Service Advisor who got me in right away - although it was getting close to closing time. We had a great conversation while waiting. It was quite refreshing to be able to get stuff done without having to wait for days.
I was looking for a Suzuki SX4 and ended up buying one from Coates Fine Cars. Glen the salesman was very patient in answering all my questions about financing and I never felt pressured by him. He was also very considerate in making sure the car had a full tank of gas when I picked it up since he knew I had a long drive home. It's such a small thing, but I really appreciated not having to worry about gas on my 200 km trip home. Ultimately I am thrilled with the car that I purchased from Coates Fine Cars and the way I was treated as a customer.
They went above and beyond for us. Amazing service, friendly and on the point. They event pushed the bank for a better interest rate on our finance. Couldn't ask for a better experience. I highly, highly recommend this dealership. They know what they are doing.
I have had nothing but a great experience with the whole team at Coates. They have been very accommodating and helpful with us through the whole process of looking and purchasing a vehicle for my daughter. Our sales guy Dave even put a bow on the car for her when picking up! What a cute way to make someone's pick up day even more special. Even the mechanics were very helpful and communicated the whole time when we needed a repair done to the vehicle. I would recommend them for both vehicle service and sales!
I took my car to them for servicing a few months ago while it was on its last legs. I was in a really tough spot financially, and they were upfront and honest about the cost of this car, and how I should probably just sell it to save myself the money of repairing it. Although they weren't going to purchase my car, they looked around on my behalf for someone to buy my car off of me. At the end of it all, the bill they gave me was heavily discounted because they understood my financial situation. Thank you so much for everything.

In the market for a vehicle, look no further than Coates Fine Cars in Barrie. I've bought many cars over the years and have never dealt with a more professional dealership. Dealing with Dan Coates was an absolute delight. He was professional and courteous. The vehicles on his lot are in my opinion the best I've ever seen any where and priced right. Buying my Ford Ranger today was easy, it was clean, in great shape and when I left Coates Fine Cars in Barrie I felt like a somebody NOT a number. Thanks Dan for the experience your Dad would be proud!
Purchased a 2012 kia sorento, nothing but problems with my vehicle, not Impressed. I wouldn't recommend going to this scam of a dealership
