I wasn't sure if I want to leave the review, but realized it's better if you read it and lower your expectations about the food. The place is good to meet friends, sit on a patio or inside, have a drink and chat. But if you're looking for a tasty experience I suggest to drive a bit farther.Food: 3/5
This place is a little gem. Servers are terrific and Chefs, outstanding. Everything we have eaten here has been perfect. We are foodies and know delicious food when we see it & taste it! Thank you Coach house pub!
Drive by this place all the time and thought I'd give it a try for take out tonight. Ordered their chicken Tika Masala that is priced at 26 dollars what a joke. Never eating here again just gross with their no frills bough chick peas and microwaved Masala sauce. Maybe stick to chicken wings oh wait probably screw that up too. What a disappointment never coming here again. Shame on you I wonder how you're still in business in such a small community.
We had a gathering for our Father that had recently passed. Barb was helpful and kind in organizing the event. The waitresses were polite, efficient offering excellent service. The food was amazing and our guests commented repeatedly on how well run and welcoming the event was. We thank you in helping us celebrate our Dad.
Service is excellent. Food was standard pub menu, i had the bangers and mash and my partner got the cajun wings and fries. Food came to out table hot and made fresh. Taste was on point. Dont expect master chef level flavours but for the way the food is made, they were cooked well and flavoured well. Nothing to complain. I would give a 5th star for options that are a bit edgy which i have seen a lot of other pubs do, but noting that this place is more of a neighbourhood staple that i know for sure when you go in for a familiar delicious pub comfort food, this is the place to go. A bit pricey for a non formal dining place, though cant blame them for inflation.
Photos online look deceiving, this pub is extremely small but cute none the less. Ordered daily soup, which was good but it came with 2 crackers. I was surprised, most establishments provide a bun or baguette slices. Definitely not worth $9. House salad was good, I'd get it again. Club sandwich is not really a club sandwich it's a sandwich cut diagonally and stacked on top of each other instead of 3 pcs of bread. Atmosphere is ok, seems there are many regulars at the bar and wait staff likes to chit chat so it delayed coffee refill and attentiveness. Might be reluctant to return.
Really Enjoyed my lunch here, had a great Sheppard's pie in this quaint British style pub, Wonderful service to boot, I will come again. Located in the heart of Ballantrae.
Cute place. Very small, so advise calling ahead to make a reservation. The staff is friendly and attentive. During the dinner rush our server seemed a bit overwhelmed. Food was great! Ordered the Steak and Guinness Pie, Mac’ n’ Cheese, and Coach House Curry Fries. Was expecting a “meat pie” style dish when I ordered the Steak and Guinness Pie so was slightly disappointed that it turn out being more of a stew with a pastry on top. The Curry Fries were wonderful! Great little British Pub with a small town atmosphere.
Quick pint, club sandwich and some tunes on the deck to enjoy a fantastic sunny weekend!!! Great spot with an authentic pub atmosphere!
Absolutely worst place. Agree with other reviewers, no idea how this place has good ratings. Unless the whole place was sold off recently to someone else who changed cooks to wait staff, there is no way this place is good. Had to wait 45mins before a simple food was brought out. It wasn’t busy, not too many customers - and we had two diff people acting confused n checking on whether we ordered food. Looks like mismanagement n communication between the waitstaff n kitchen. Ridiculous entrees prices and thought well the food taste would compensate that. Ordered the ribs n salad, the salad was stale. Tasted like it was frozen n was microwaved before serving. Ribs was so old n dry and bland, I had to eat mine with ketchup jus to add some taste. And to pay $29 for that! Husband ordered the steak - $27 and it’s wasn’t sirloin, more like two small medallion pieces. Hardly would be $6. So disappointed. This place really needs a wake up call. Sometimes the surrounding is bad but food would be good. Service might be excellent n friendly that the mediocre food would still be appreciated. But this place had nothin - bad staff, food debris on the floor, unclean tables. Confused staff, bad cook, long wait times.
