Clyde's is a drive-in located in Sault Sainte Marie, MI on Riverside drive right next to the Sugar Island ferry. It was founded in 1949 by Mr. Clyde VanDusen. Clyde still owns the place and still stops by for a burger and to check up on the place. Clyde's is the home of the original "Big C." Stop in and have your today.

Ah Clyde's Drive-In, a great restaurant with multiple locations in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, this one located in Sault Saint Marie, MI! A unique looking building with a big red, white and blue sign, makes finding Clyde's Drive-In very easy! Much like its other two locations in the U.P., this restaurant serves up some great food! Food is hot, fresh and well prepared with generous portions that won't hurt your wallet! If you're in the Soo area be sure to try Clyde's Drive-In today!
Clyde’s is just one of those places you go to when you’re in the Soo! The nostalgia is really neat, it’s like taking a step back into the 1950’s. The service is friendly and efficient. It’s not the type of drive in where they put a tray on your window, but they do bring the food to your car. You can also eat at the picnic tables if you’d like. The food is about what you’d expect from a drive-in type establishment with generous portion sizes. I’d recommend at least coming here once during your visit to the Soo, even if for the nostalgia if nothing else! I got the famous Big C and enjoyed it. It’s also a bonus when you get to see a big freighter go by!
My burger hit the spot. It was nice that they brought me my French fries to eat while I was waiting for my cheeseburger.
I absolutely love burger joints like this. Burgers so tasty you just HAVE to write a review.nnI had a bacon cheeseburger, it was magnificent. I was a little disappointed they don't have steak fries, but I got the onion rings and they were great.nnI should also point out that I rode my motorcycle 500 miles to eat here, ate, turned around and went back. Granted I was looking for a good place to do a 1,000 mile ride, and I'm glad I rode to Clyde's. It was perfection and I would do it all over again.
This is a small drive-in. The food is very good drive-in food. They have curbside service, takeout, and a small counter for dine- in. We ate at the counter. The service was great. While waiting, you are watching their whole kitchen in action. It has such a happy vibe. We enjoyed our meal very much. I left with a smile on my face from the sheer happiness of the staff. I will definitely go here again if/ when I get back to Soo.
