This cemetery seems to have no regard for their military’s remains. My dad is resting there. Has been since 1998. They knock down flag holders and just leave them laying across the grave. The grounds are not well maintained. The worst is the flooding. They need a drainage system! Graves markers are sinking into the ground. My family has spoken with them on several occasions. Nothing has ever been resolved. My next step is to report it to the VA. So sad that this is the RESPECT they show our servicemen!
We had the most upsetting experience at my aunt's burial yesterday. We were supposed to sign some papers at the office before heading out to the gravesite. The office employee had some information mixed up about who owned the gravesite. We were trying to explain and straighten out the situation, before heading out to the site, but she would cut our concerns short and not listen to us. No matter how we tried to explain it, she would shut us down insisting she was right. Her attitude ruined our experience at the cemetery. We didn't need additional grief yesterday.
As someone who works in retail, I do not expect employees to bend over backwards to me and my family's whims. That being said, while me and my family were polite, the staff in the office were less than friendly when we were there. They were nasty and were not forthcoming with information about my brother's grave. Also, the grounds were unkept. This was not the first negative experience my family has had either.
Can't thank them enough for helping to handle an issue with the Greenbrook Monument Company who dropped the ball handling the date scroll for my mom's stone. I arrived very upset and they worked with me and helped me finally have resolution to my issue. Ruth Nicola assured me she would take care of having it installed by the following day when I would have my children with me to lay the grave blanket. She finally gave me the closure I needed and gave me the best Christmas gift. My children and I are grateful. The customer service at Clover Leaf is caring and top notch. Everyone in the office was so kind and understanding. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I don't understand why behind the muselleum the grounds are very sloppy with branches laying in the roadway, grass & water puddles.
** edited as of 6/5/2020- got a call back from here and they were very friendly they took care of the issues that I had and were real nice about my concerns. Thank you for helping me! *** Originally 3 stars -I really want to give this more stars but unfortunately I cannot, I go to visit my grandparents and great grandparents graves quit frequently, within the past I’m not sure there is a fresh grave put above where my grandparents are no big deal people die but it looks like they ran over my grandparents and great grandparents head stones, I also noticed my great grandfathers name plate looked like someone unscrewed it and it’s just laying there. I had my mom call about it and called about a plot question for the deed as well as questions about random squares that look like they are where my grandparents are burried.. we were told they were too busy dealing with covid deaths and that someone would call us back... we’ll that was well over a month ago! I was just there today and it still wasn’t fixed and no call. The facilities has definitely gone down, the pictures listed of all the graves that are just dirt are correct, roads are filled with pot holes and many of the grave stones are sunken in the ground. I will be returning to remove the name Plate off my great grandparents grave since anyone can just walk up and take it. Would love it someone would get in touch with us so we can get this taken care of
It seems that posting a negative review on line maybe the only way to get a response from Clover Leaf i'll explain; Dec. 01 , 2020 i sent a letter to Clover Leaf expressing my discontent it was returned explanation from Post Office no one was there to receive the letter, sent it out again on Dec. 09, 2020 to Woodbridge Memorial Gardens & Beth Israel Cemetery still no response to date, so here is the letter i sent; Enclosed is a copy of a letter I sent November 27, 2018 in expressing my discontent of Clover Leaf Burial Park roads and burial conditions, On Dec. 03, 2018 you responded with a letter stating future repairs. On November 27, 2020 my brother brought a Christmas Wreath for my Mom & Dad and I must say I thought the Burial Park was sad looking in 2018 it's even worse. the large holes on the roads still exist, trimming around Mom & Dad's marker nonexistent, my brother was asking questions about Mausoleum so we chose to enter the first one near the office the water stains on the ceiling set the mood of a non-caring Burial Park employees and management alike, no respect for the deceased family members that lay here. My brother asked what would be the cost of removing our parents from Clover Leaf I wasn't sure so I looked into it. Called Flynn & Sons F.H. I spoke to a Ms.Ginny she stated that Clover Leaf would charge $3,595.00 To dig each grave even though they are side by side, if you do the math that's $7,190.00 How outrages is this talk about GREED !!, I can't see paying that much money especially when the fault is on the deterioration of your Burial Park and i don't see it improving anytime soon. Two years have passed and nothing has been done !! It Is a sin that a large company doesn't give a Damm !!!! After this letter I visited my Parents to check if the wreath we brought was still there due to a wind and rain storm that recently hit the area I was glad it was there for my parents, I chose to take a drive around the burial park in back of the Last Supper Monument, the road was flooded and could not drive through it if i had to guess it was about 150' long, I backed up 50' to get to a dry location to drive away, UN-REAL !!!!!
This cemetery is a disgrace. My aunts are buried here, along with several other family members. Their plot is terribly sunken in, and when I spoke with the office in December about the condition I was told that it would be taken care of in the Spring. They said to call back mid-March to check. I waited until early April to call, and was told the work was scheduled to be done by the end of that week and I would get a call when it was completed. Seventeen days later, with no call received, I visited the site only to find the plot is not only still sunken in, but filled with dried leaves...AND...the Christmas blanket laid early in December was still there....barely noticeable under the overgrown mess...but there none-the-less. After stopping in the office to express my displeasure, I was told that the crews were working by section, and it was still on their list to complete and that I would get a call when it's done. It's been almost 3 weeks since that day, and still no call. This is just unacceptable. The neglect is really heartbreaking, and the "customer service" is appalling. If I could rate it "zero stars" I would. Very disappointed and disgusted with this.
I would not recommend Clover Leaf Memorial Park to anyone. The last memories of a loved one you get are horrific and devastating! The staff show no empathy. Synowiecki hosted the wake for a family member today and transported the casket to Clover Leaf. The issue was the funeral director was unaware nor did the cemetery communicate that when the family arrived at the cemetery Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge you will not be able to step up to the casket to give your last respects.. Instead, we pulled up and everyone stood there watching them bulldoze dirt over the grave and and not until after can you put flowers on the dirt. This was very devastating to children that attended and family members were distraught over what occured. I am not exaggerate, see attached pics of bulldozer and plywood w/dirt that attendees had to walk on. When I asked the foreman onsite Fran Stanley if we could place flowers on the casket and give our last respects before they lower and cover the casket he said no. And I quote, " We need to bury them first so we do not get exposed to the coronavirus". ??? What does burying a casket before or after giving last respects have to do with Corona virus?? Nowhere on their site is there mention of this other than to maintain social distancing and wearing a mask. I recommend to the cemetery and funeral staff BOTH to communicate to family members directly what to expect so they can discuss options such as arriving after they bury the casket.
My mother and brother are buried here and I find the cemetery to always be well-kept, clean with a friendly and helpful staff. I have never had an issue in the 14 years of dealing with them.
