Cloud 9 Float Spa is a luxurious float tank center just outside Vancouver, designed to relax, rehabilitate, enhance performance, and expand the mind.

Story

Float tanks are a simple and powerful tool that can improve everyday life. The practice is used by many people, doctors and athletes seeking a variety of solutions to everyday problems. Most frequently used for personal development, physical recovery, psychological and other physiological benefits.

When someone begins floating, the room is devoid of all light and earplugs are used to ensure removal of all external sound. The tank itself is filled with 11” of water of which has over 900 pounds of Epsom salt mixed in. All of these conditions together free a person from the sense of touch, pressure, friction, sound and light; leaving one in an environment of complete peace and quiet.

My partner and I went for the couple's float today using a Groupon. We were both impressed by the overall experience of floating, which is a lovely way to meditate, get rid of some body aches, and overall have quiet time in your day. In terms of the facility, I have no complaints. Completely spotless and has a nice calm ambiance. We had a really nice man explain the process to us and give us tips like to start with a lukewarm shower. We definitely plan on coming back and will recommend Cloud 9 to others!

The lady working tonight (long dark hair) was SO helpful. We both were floating for our first time. She helped us understand the whole process and made it so comfortable for us. Thank you so much!

Didn't find it to be relaxing for the most part Had a super bad headache once I got out despite eating and drinking lots of water 1-1.5 hours before float. Felt rushed to shower and get out. The facility was nice though

I went here with a groupon gift card, but there were unexpected extra charges. It was still a good deal, but the pricing was not transparent.

Honestly looking at some of the reviews, many are bang on, a few seem a little petty with unreasonable expectations. I feel like I should weigh in a bit, I have only been floating just over a year, for medical reasons, with excellent results, but feel like I could pass along a little advice. Be reasonable with your expectations, this is a great space with kind folks working there, treat them well, listen to their advice, and enjoy your float... Perhaps some people are expecting some luxury spa experience, when it's a "float", not a seaweed mud wrap with someone constantly offering champagne and caviar... Realistically you are paying for a float session, and access to a room for your scheduled time not a pampering session. Those who have been floating a while become efficient, get in quickly, try not to make a huge mess, don't need to use a bunch of towels, exit the room on time or early, keep quiet, considering others may be floating, thank the staff for such a great space, and leave to enjoy the rest of their day. The staff are always wonderful, and compared to other places, it is the cleanest facility I've been to. They clearly work hard to maintain a high standard, and it pays off, great job!! A word of advice, keep your pre-float shower on the cool side, take a warm one after your float. Floating is about sensory deprivation, the water in the unit is a standardized temp that allows you to not feel the water once settled(a key factor for me). A few friends, who were not paying attention in the intro, made the rookie mistake of taking their usual hot shower before the float, and then felt cold until they adjusted. If the float unit water is too warm it is distracting, this team has it set perfectly, they have it at this temp for a reason. Combine the high buoyancy salt water, with darkness, earplugs, and breathing, you are able to feel like you are literally floating in the silent darkness of space, the only sound is your breathing, and heartbeat. If you are stressed, or frustrated with your day, or life in general, leave your stress, and issues outside, this is your time to unwind, let that go. Floating for me has been some of my greatest meditations, and a great way to contemplate projects or ideas, I leave feeling blissful, and relaxed. Think of floating as a tool in your life, your personal escape, and the staff are there to help, but you create and evolve your own inner experience.
