Wonderful restaurant. Nice staff and wonderful manager. Nice pool and lovely view of the golf course. Definitely recommend the crusted tuna awesome & ceviche for starters. The Salmon and beef tenderloin was quite good. Avoid the seared half hen, not the best you get and the one I got was very salty.
We went here for my birthday dinner and it was wonderful. The server Jenn was very sweet. My husband's wine was not the same year as listed on the menu and she happily replaced it. Food was really good. We ordered the beef tenderloin, fish and chips and pesto chicken pizza... All 3 were really yummy. Save the desserts were also very good. Their patio is really beautiful.
Made reservation. Went with 2 little kids and on time. Hot sunny day. Sat outside with an amazing view. Food was good. Staff was amazing from parking area to the restaurant staff. They do get waves of crowd from golf course and folks staying at the resort so make reservation and be on time. While we were there, they did have multiple large groups and staff seems to handle it well. To truly enjoy this place, you must combine the view and the food. It's an experience. They delivered.
We had a fabulous time dinning at the restaurant. Food was great. Love the ambience there with panoramic view overlooking their golf course and scenic view of Gravenhurst. Staff are very friendly and approachable. My daughter left her novel at the restaurant and we live 2.5 hours away from the resort. I called them and they shipped us back the book by courier expedite with no hassle. I would definitely go back.
We swooned over the senbei crusted tuna $20, a starter of ahi tuna wrapped in seaweed and rice cracker bits, deep fried to create a crispy coating but still leaves the fish raw and warmed. Sliced into thick meaty pieces, it’s adorned with a wasabi aioli that gives it Japanese French flair. The amazing tuna made the shrimp lettuce cups $17 seem severely underwhelming. Sure, it contained great fresh ingredients like delicate butter lettuce, poached shrimp, and cool vermicelli, but it seemed to be missing something – like a mango slaw or even the coleslaw they serve with the fish and chips - anything to give it colour, interest, and more flavours. Cliffside smartly heats their plates, so the mains arrive and stay piping hot. But it does mean proteins like the seared salmon $42 should be undercooked to finish, so it’s not completely cooked through when it arrives. Nonetheless, the fish had a nice crust and was still flaky inside. I wouldn’t have thought to marinade salmon in a rosemary beet mixture, it ends up creating a natural tasting sweet and savoury glaze. Overall, the main is a healthy but filling dish finished with soft creamy stewed lentils, roasted asparagus, and a light citrusy beurre blanc sauce. Our seafood meal continued with the fish and chips $24, which had a nice airy crispy beer batter. In lieu of the traditional chips, Cliffside serves the fish with shoestring fries, it’s slightly softer texture almost reminiscent of McDonald’s spuds. Online reviews generally commend the restaurant’s food but complains about service. Our Friday dinner went off without a hitch with someone around whenever we needed. The only anomaly was Cliffside includes a bread plate and butter knife with their place settings but never actually asks if would like or serves any carb. Perhaps a bit strange, but hardly anything that would mean a flaw in their service.
I visited Cliffside restaurant for dinner with my partner during the New Years weekend and we have nothing but great things to say! We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and the food tasted great! Service was quick and Chantel was an AWESOME server! Also- highly recommend the churros, they were so tasty
My friends and I spent a cozy weekend up here, and meandered up to the Cliffside for a coffee. We were wonderfully assisted by Jeff, who shared so much great information on beautiful hikes on location and around Bala. Also got the low-down on some awesome breweries Clearlake where I had the yummiest raspberry radler! We loved being able to discover some tried and true spots which made our trip even more fun in the winter wonderland! Thanks Jeff!
What seems to be considered the best restaurant in Muskoka did not disappoint. The veal chop was succulent, the salad was well-dressed, and the service was impeccable. The Brad came out piping hot and fresh with house-made butter with a perfectly salted and garliced crust. Nothing to complain about here. Nice ambiance and a great drink list for Muskoka as well. Will return!
The patio is beautiful with a wonderful view, and the meal was phenomenal. We will be back!
Such a great club house pool & restaurant, very clean facility and the food was great. Friendly staff, thanks to Kylee she was very helpful. Definitely coming back. Highly recommended!
