What with the transfer hub. Buses keep leaving even if you ask the driver to contact the bus you need to transfer too. It's hit and miss with this setup. $500000 was spent on a hub system that works only part of the time? Wish it wasn't so complicated and just work as expected. Of course no news media outlet report has on this issue. It's really not that hard for them to catch a ride and see what's really happening. Wonder why riders numbers are down. Don't blame the pandemic for this one! Sault transit is it's own worst enemy and that's way riders are staying away! The drivers dislike the hub and I can only agree with this assessment.
Too expensive for what they offer. 3.05 There is no sense of safety on the buses, 0 security, which is definitely needed. The bus drivers are too busy driving the bus to ensure the people on the bus are safe. I personally have been harassed on the bus, even when it was fully crowded. The buses don't fill as much anymore, partially or mainly due to the unreasonable cost. The trips are too short to be worth 3$, the bus times are also too unreasonable for that price. Not all bus drivers charge the .05 but some do, as some bus drivers can be quite rude and unfair. This is a service to the public, the passengers are customers, and people who take the bus are mostly unable to drive or even walk places. There is a huge poverty problem in this city, I am certain the 3$ per ride doesn't help that at all. As I recall the buses are partially or mostly funded by the public's taxes as well. So please. Do better. Don't be a part of the problem.
I've had busses go right past me when I was at a stop, drivers not stopping when I pull the stop signal as well on multiple occasions yes I pulled it a few times. Some drivers even talk on the phone while driving. I've also found a pair of used underwear on the seat before which was nasty. They never lower the bus for me either, I'm disabled and short so its hard to get on the bus sometimes. When I do ask I'm often met with rude replies, I've never seen them lower the bus for others either who need it. This all needs to be fixed it's ridiculous, I mainly take busses 7 and 5.
This is not about the Transit Facility,.. this is about Transit Management, or lack there of. Tonight was Rotary Fest Saturday. I had to wait sooooo long for the "On Demand" service that I eventually canceled the ride, and walked!! Ppl should NOT have to do that with all the "new" buses we have now. Having to wait 33+ minutes to be picked up from the Northern Transfer Hub and brought to the Dennis Street terminal is a just a BIT MUCH, don't you think?? WITHOUT QUESTION the general public should've been given "Regular Transit Services" for Rotary Fest. Especially for an event as large as Rotary Fest that starts in the morning, and doesn't end until at least 11pm at night! My question is, what is wrong with these people running transit in this city? I was living in Sudbury for a time, and had to use transit there on occasion to get back and forth to school.. In comparison; SSM transit is wayyyyy out of date. This is definitely upper management's fault. Perhaps some people need to either retire, or find another position within the city or another career all together.. b/c this job is definitely NOT for you!
I'd just like to take a moment to thank Sault Transit Staff for their professional and efficient service. Earlier today I accidentally got off the bus without one of my packages. When I called to alert Sault Transit of this the agent learned the situation, radioed the driver who secured the package and informed me the package was found and would be left at the Sault Transit Terminal concession counter in what seemed like under 2 minutes. The team work in your service shines brightly. Merry Christmas and thank you each and all!
Very rude bus drivers was on the sault collage inbound today I was getting off at Bruce Street around 1:50pm and I asked nicely for the driver to lower the bus as I'm disabled and was met with sarcastic comments and abuse she eventually lowered the bus after I told her there was no to be a Karen lately the bus drivers Have been verbally and emotionally abusive toward disabled people FIX THIS
Great drivers, AWFUL management. bus stops are constantly changing, schedules make no sense. fare prices always raising while service is becoming less and less.
Bus driver argued about my take out while heading home I wasn't eating or drinking it just wanted to get home he was rude and confrontational he yelled at my friend and I the whole way I asked for transit security and he wouldn't report to them cause he was in the wrong worst service ever
Why do they have to stop at all rail crossings if they don't bother stopping at stop signs?
Thank you too all the staff for being kind especially after 146 was retired and I got super sad.
