Very decent place to live, however many drivers go way too fast through the residential streets, especially when it's dark!!! Have nearly been hit on a few occasions taking the dog for a walk, but drivers clearly going more than 40 mph. I hate to think that innocent walkers are eventually going to be needlessly hurt, but unless people slow way down. There is literally no excuse for this. Even 25 mph seems fast, but I could live with that as a compromise.

City takes in so much money they feel the need to build affordable housing in a city that's 4 square miles and has many people on fixed income. I feel bad giving 1 star because a lot of the employees are helpful but not the mayor or the council. And to add to it when they allow citizens to have their voices heard about raising taxes, which they always do, they out the meeting at the same time as the school district and Hennepin county so you choose what's most important and good luck trying to have your voice heard. Here's a picture of last year's meeting. At least they could have picked a better venuethis was probably done on purpose.
Had to make a accident report and were promptly helped by receptionist. Officer Andrew Johnson then made our report and was very courteous, informative and thorough. God bless the Hopkins police department!
There was construction going on near my house and the street was closed off for about 2-3 weeks. After it reopened my sister's friend was driving her home in her car and they hit a big pothole which was in the same area where all that construction was happening. The pothole popped her friend's tires and she had to pay her for the damages. Which really isn't fair at all. You had that part of the street closed off for almost a month and your construction workers completely ignored that huge hole in the street. There is absolutely no excuse for this at all. And I can see many accidents happening due their stupidity.
Hopkins P.D. more interested in catching people obeying the law with the exception of not wearing their seat belt.. Others, speeding, crossing over their lane and killing motorcycle drivers. Sad.
Hopkins is great! HPD is THE BEST
They were very helpful hooking up my car seat in my car.
The staff at City Hall have been most welcoming and helpful, going above and beyond to serve.
