Story

Brantford City Hall is the home of the municipal government of Brantford, Ontario, Canada. The building is located at 100 Wellington Square.Designed by Michael Kopsa and built in 1967, it is exemplary of Brutalist architecture. It has been home to Brantford City Council since its move from Brantford Town Hall (built 1849), which served the city from 1877 to 1967.The old town hall was demolished along with Market Square to make way for current Eaton Market Square retail complex.

Love getting woken up at 7 a.m. by the clock tower, truly a magical experience. As if the constant bell ringing wasn’t bad enough, now they’ve decided to blast stupid Christmas music that goes on forever. Who asked for this? Seriously. Nobody.nnThis is heavily annoying and completely inconsiderate, especially since many students live in nearby buildings. During exam season, this was a major disturbance while people were trying to study, sleep, or exist without being jump-scared awake by festive noise pollution.nnDoes the town actually want students to succeed, or is the goal just to see how many people they can irritate before 8 a.m.? Turn. This. Off. It’s unnecessary, disruptive, and beyond frustrating.
People at city hall are a joke, twice i have gone in to get paperwork and pay for my dog license. They kept saying i have to do it online and gave me a site i can do it on. so i went to the site and guess what....it won't let me do it because of the breed. Then i had city by law show up at my door saying i have to do this or ill get a big fine... Well no kidding but its hard when YOU keep giving me wrong sites and people at city hall wont even give you the time of day, was candy crush on the phone of the lady behind the desk more important? Do better Brantford Do better...
Very cold and unwelcoming building. The people who work the windows are cold and unfriendly. Perhaps the job is unpleasant with all the different people they have to deal with.
We visited to inquire about marriage registration, but one of the staff members was extremely rude and displayed unprofessional behavior, particularly toward international individuals. The service provided to international people was notably poor.nnOn the other hand, another staff member was very kind, behaved respectfully, and explained everything in detail. We believe it’s important to treat everyone equally, especially international individuals who may not be familiar with certain steps required for paperwork.
The repaired bell tower striking every hour starting 7 AM to 10 PM is a horrendous disturbance to the locals. I have to sleep early and get up at 5 AM for work. The bell keeps me awake during weekdays and doesn't allow me to sleep in on weekends. It chimes up to 10 times at night to ensure you don't fall asleep even with windows closed. What a horrible public nuisance. Whoever decided this is a good idea needs to have the bell installed at their home.nnI can ignore the constant drug addicts using drugs within the city hall property but the noise from the dumb bell can't be ignored.
