I believe this is a good movie theater, but it appeared older and less equipped compared to the one by Kildonan Place. The VIP lounge is perfectly designed and maintained, but the actual movie theater is equipped with old-fashioned chairs, lacks recliners, and definitely does not offer enough legroom for tall individuals. It is a decent place, but not outstanding.
We had two tickets for the Minecraft movie today and arrived at the theatre, only to have the confrontational and unsympathetic manager refuse entry to my 14-year-old because it was a VIP 18+ screening room. That’s when we learned that the 18+ restriction wasn’t about the content of the movie—it was simply because alcohol is served in that section.nnIronically, the manager mentioned they had just turned away another family for the exact same reason. It really makes you wonder: how hard would it be for Cineplex to add an age verification step to their online ticketing system for 18+ venues? It would prevent customer frustration and avoid unnecessary business losses.nnWe ended up spending $20 on popcorn and the most awful Sprite drink, then headed home extremely disappointed.
I love this new service! National Theatre Live! It was an amazing afternoon with friends!
experience received for freenTried the VIP seating for the first time and what a disappointment it was. To begin, the 'airport lounge' waiting room is wholly unnecessary - who arrives early to a theatre?? Inside the theatre, it was so cold we were both wearing our winter parkas to stay cozy - unacceptable. The seats are not much better than standard seating; again, if I were paying extra for this on top of a regular ticket to see a movie out, I'd expect comfort to exceed my couch at home! The movie experience with the eyes and ears is the same as a regular theatre. The food was properly atrocious - poutine was not hot, the chicken had a strange texture that reminded me of spam. The side of fries with the burger was so small in quantity it was smaller than a McDonald's fry. And I've baked cookies with more moisture than this supposed brownie. Are these menu items even taste tested?nI'm wholly unconvinced and disappointed by the 'VIP' concept, and I'll definitely be staying home next time.
I attended a late movie in the VIP section. I ordered a beer before the movie started via one of the servers who comes to your seat to take your order and paid for it but I never received my drink. I didn’t want to get up and miss the movie to get one, so I thought I would just wait until it was done to request my refund. When the movie was done, there was not a single staff member in site in the VIP area or in the general concessions area for me to talk to about it and request my money back. Very poor customer service.
