Been many years since I have actually watched a movie in theaters, usually spend my time gaming instead of being a movie buff. So I was quite blown away, still very well am, when it comes to how the viewing experience is these days! Gone are the crappy cheap seats that used to be the norm fifteen or so years back, now they have literal sofas now. The lobby is nicely thematic for the better part, if not feeling a bit stuffed because of the arcade based things. Service is usually pretty quick so you do not usually have to wait long to get your tickets. All in all, I feel it is worth five stars, definitely a decent theater.
Just saw a new release. Almost empty. Very spacious and clean. Recliner seats are very comfortable. Price was average. Yes it is the only one in sherwood park but 10 min away there is a lower cost theater that may even be better. Suggest you lower prices a few dollars.
It was our first visit to Cineplex Sherwood Park with the family. We pre-purchased our tickets online, but found the concessions to be quite slow as they only had one till open on an early Saturday evening. It's unfortunate that Cineplex doesn't offer free popcorn or pop refills like some of the other movie theatre chains do. There looks to be a fairly decent sized party room. The main areas and theatre were quite clean and comfortable, aside from the theatre getting quite warm during the movie. I ended up having to leave the movie to ask the staff if they could turn down the heat, which they did but it took some time to kick in. The kids had a lot of fun playing some games after the movie. The staff in the games area were very helpful and accommodating. We may return again in the future, but it's not our first choice of theatres.
Stair lights need to be adjusted. Overall, a nice cinema but if you are sitting on the first 4-5 recliner sofas towards the stairs then there is a high chance you will be bothered by the super bright stair-lights throughout the movie. I was on seat 3 from the stairs see the attached picture
I saw Wicked here a couple weeks ago, and Nosferatu just recently. Both were in theatre 7. Seats are awesome, but the projector definitely seems like it has some burnout. The middle of the screen in both movies had this bright ring. Seems like something needs to be fixed.
