"Understaffed and Slow Response to Long Line-Ups". I come to this branch about once a month to pay bills, I like doing it that way, and the location is nice although tight parking lot. I'm consistently disappointed with the service - not specifically with the tellers, all of them have been nice and generally efficient, but what really irks me tremendously is the lack of staff on the front counter especially at busy times. CIBC can certainly afford to have more than 1 or 2 tellers sitting there helping customers, and today was no exception. On a busy Saturday, we were lined up longer than the local grocery store at Christmas Eve - yet there was only one lonely poor soul trying his best to help. The other teller was on her lunch break - fair enough - but there WERE THREE OTHER people aimlessly poking their heads out of their offices randomly, and occasionally coming up to us asking if we needed help. If we DID NOT need help, why the hell would we all be in line?? What SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED, is once the other staff, especially the manager, saw that there were customers waiting (upwards of 20 minutes), with ONE teller present, get some extra bodies in chairs and the line moving along. It should not have taken me 25 minutes to pay a simple bill - I went to pay another bill with BMO right after this debacle and I was in and out of there in FIVE minutes. CIBC - get a correct amount of front line staff present to take care of your customers, it sure doesn't make me feel like I want to continue to be one of yours.
