First time here and certainly a 4.5 star Google restaurant in port perry caught my eye. First off staff were so lovely and accommodating. The only issue with service was the delay in food. I ordered an appetizer mussels we split a pasta mushroom pappardelle and I ordered a steak 12oz Striploin and my buddy ordered Salmon. We waited for what felt like an eternity and the steak and salmon came out first. They clearly cut their own steaks because my first one was cut on such an angle the one end was shoe leather and the other side was about med/well ordered med/rare. They refired it, but the next one that came out looked like the loin came off a dragon because of how big it was. For sure 12oz, but take a look at how thin it was. This one was cooked well but very chewy. Thinking probably the vendor had a sale on some large Holstein loins. Anyway, since the staff were so nice and the pasta/mussels were decent I will go back and try it again and hope they change to better quality beef even if they have to charge a few dollars more. Kid-friendliness: They offer colouring books for the kids, but no high chairs/booster seats
Pizza was good and the breakfast was OK, the sausage was good but the bacon wasn't really cooked so hit and miss. Service was fine, they didn't refill our waters and she wasn't personable. The whole experience was fine, not bad but not great either.Food: 4/5
My husband and I went to Ciao Bella last night to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere is a little strange - the high top tables weren’t very comfortable and the decor was not what I was expecting. We sat directly beside the bar with our table top touching the main bar area. The servers kept coming by and putting things down right beside us, pouring water for other guests essentially right at our table. We had some issues with our drink orders over the course of our meal, but we chalked it up to them being busy. Our waitress asked us to take our order twice, within a couple minutes of each other, however she apologized and said she has been working a long shift. I ordered the lobster ravioli which was good - not fabulous, but edible. My husband got the Pizza Di Cotto, and after asking the waitress to give us some detail on what to expect, we anticipated a prosciutto pizza with red sauce. What came out was soo unappetizing - this pizza was not at all what was described. It was made with Brie or some other type of sharp cheese as the base and was topped with 3 pieces of meat that looked like SPAM. Neither of us could eat more than a bite. We have never sent any food back at any other restaurant, but this was completely inedible. They replaced the pizza with an underwhelming margarita which was priced way too high for the quality. We weren't offered desert, but after our experience with the pizza we weren’t interested in trying anything else. Nothing was comped when it came time to pay. We won’t be returning based on our experience.
Really spectacular food, and open late! Some of the best Italian I've had in the GTA/beyond area, even compared to some higher price points. Superb.Food: 5/5
To start off with the server was friendly, but under trained. We came with another couple, and we had a pizza and shared a couple of pastas. Sending out a knife to cut your own pizza, not on a cutting board, but on a ceramic plate did not work for anyone at the table. Even proper pizza cutting scissors would’ve made it at least fun. We all found both pizzas average at best. The waitress did not return to ask us how we liked anything nor did she offer pepper, parmesan cheese, etc. Did not even see her until the plates needed clearing. I’ll stop there and would love to revisit some day if they make some improvements. P.S. I ordered takeout mushroom ravioli a different time and although tasty, was still hungry after eating the seven pieces. Please take the negative reviews seriously, as we need a good Italian restaurant that’s local.
10/10 never thought we could get amazing mouth watering Italian in Port Perry, would hug the chef if I could…thank you
Was super excited to try this place but left very disappointed. Got the mushroom ravioli which came with about 4 or 5 pieces of ravioli. Portion size not acceptable for the price. Was still hungry after the meal. The taste was decent, but they even used powdered parmesan cheese which I wouldn't expect from an Italian restaurant. Perhaps the most disappointing part was when we brought up our dissatisfaction, there were no solutions offered to try and make our experience better. It's too bad as I had high hopes for this place, but will not be back. In the end they did take $2 off of my bill, but I still left hungry.
Came in with a party of 10 under a reservation at 6pm. They kept forgetting to bring us things like cutlery and water. It took 90 minutes to get food. When food arrived they forgot to put one person meal in, and we didn't have time to wait. Asked for the bill immediately when food arrived, and was informed then they only take cash and e-transfer, this should have been informed at the start. I e-transfer the money but they still have not accepted it. This is no way to run a business.
Placed an online order for myself and elderly parents last night. Started off on the wrong foot when our order was delayed by 30 minutes. By the time we got home, two minutes away, all of the dishes were cold. Still tasted great, but left a bad taste in our mouths. No apologies, discount or free dessert offered for the delay. Staff seemed very confused and inexperienced. We’ll see. Also, as follow up to an earlier review, there were only 4 ravioli portions. Parking: Very limited.
We went to Caio Bella last night for Valentines and boy was the place packed. Thankfully we had made reservations and were seated immediately. The atmosphere was great. We started with drinks the espresso martinis are great, and so well presented. Moved onto apps, our friends ordered bruschetta and we had the beef tartare both were excellent and came out in a timely manner, especially considering how busy they were. We waited a bit for our mains to arrive, which is to be expected on such a busy night and our server kept our drinks full and was apologetic about the wait. Once the food came out we all agreed it was well worth the wait. Our friends had the beef tenderloin and both enjoyed themselves. I had the bolognese which was amazing and my partner had the mushroom ravioli which was honestly incredible which is a big compliment considering I’m not generally a mushroom fan. The experience was awesome, the atmosphere was so enjoyable and the food was great. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because my partners food came about 10 minutes after ours which feels like forever when you’re hungry. Mistakes can happen when you’re a new restaurant that’s getting slammed. We’re both still looking forward to coming back!! Thank you Caio Bella for a great evening.
