Chuckwagon is a very underrated restaurant! Staff is fantastic, friendly and efficient. Food portions are great and always tasty! Highly recommend!
The food is quite nice, but it’s nothing special that you couldn’t make at home. It is certainly a “home cooked meal” eating in is okay, a small cozy inside. However their delivery service is never the best, they range between 40-60 minutes which is crazy to me. I would personally not like to wait almost an hour for food I could make at home. But there are some plus sides, the deserts are nice, same with dinner options.
Sunday, October 23rd - Party of 3 Adults Took about 20 minutes to receive our food. It felt like it was taking a long time but we tried to be patient as they were busy. However, we noticed that others who had arrived after us were receiving their food. Our waitress never checked on us. We had to ask another one about where our food was and she had to investigate for us. Nobody ever apologized for the long wait / possible forgetting our order. I had ordered my food with the over-easy egg to be on a separate plate due to issues with food touching/ flavours mixing. I was asked if I wanted the sausage separate and I said yes usually I separate everything else as much as I can on my own for less complications. Ended up getting the egg and home fries on one plate, sausage on another and toast on a third because it wasn't ready with the rest of the food. This isn't what I requested. When I went to pay I noticed I was charged $2 extra. I was told it was for the 'extra plate' and that this was on the menu. I googled the menu and found noted at the bottom extra plate $2. This sounds like something that would be implemented for plate sharing. A courteous waitress would point this out at time of ordering as one does not read a menu like a legal document nor do they expect to be charged for not being neurotypical.
Went for breakfast and always order eggs Benedict at every restaurant I go to. It was absolutely horrible!! No meat and the sauce was incredibly sweet, never experienced eggs Benny that could be served as a dessert. Staff was really friendly though.
My dad and I eat here frequently. The staff is wonderful. We often go for all day breakfast. My dad really likes the meatloaf when we go for dinner. Prices are good but it's the staff that really makes this diner superiorFood: 4/5
This place is amazing. It's kind of an old school diner with the homemade incredible food for anyone to enjoy. The portions are large and the meals actually fill your stomach. Definitely worth the time to check it out for everyone/anyone going to Woodstock. Kid-friendliness: While I did not have any children with me, this restaurant would be great for kids to eat here.
Worst 3 meals we ever had. Waitress was awesome. Two of us started out with nice crisp fresh garden salads. I had chicken rice soup which had flavour but didn’t resemble chicken because there wasn’t any One of us had the special, veal cutlet…very tough One ordered the spaghetti Alfredo, what she got was spaghetti in drowning in Garlic butter and Parmesan on top. Asked the waitress if the sauce was supposed to be a white cream sauce and she said yes. We sent it back and we could hear the cook say he put cream in it a lie and the waitress said he couldn’t have because he didn’t ask her for any??? I was unfortunate enough to have ordered the Greek wrap….BIG MISTAKE! It was ice cold inside and out. I asked the waitress if they grill their wraps and she said yes. Clearly this was not grilled so she took it back and I heard the cook lie yet again saying he did grill it. On top of that it had absolutely no flavour. The tzatziki sauce and feta cheese were tasteless as well as the pork and there were no Greek spices. After seeing what the other meals were like there was no way I was going to take a chance and order something else. Because of the delays we ate in shifts. To be fair the waitress apologized and explained they have a new cook. Hopefully they get rid of him before he destroys their business. We have been there before but only for breakfast and it was great, no complaints there The waitress was very accommodating and adjusted our bill but we will never go back for dinner!
I was in Woodstock for morparfest I stayed just up the road at the Westmount motel and had dinner here at the chuckwagon restaurant I highly recommend the primerib omg it was tender and delicious it came with roasted potatoes and carrots amazing meal
The food was excellent 20 yrs. Ago and it is even better now. I had the hot beef and it was delicious! The restaurant has been remodeled since I was last there. Highly recommend the Chuck wagon if you are looking for friendly service and great food.
Highlight on the homemade minestrone soup! Fries were fresh, mixed vegetables were soggy, fish was lightly panfried. Very friendly staff! Lots of regulars
