Two words: delicious food. We had the papa a la huancaina, the papa rellena and the rotisserie chicken and they were all amazing. My expectations were high as I’m Peruvian, but the food was 100% satisfying. Specially the huancaina sauce, and the huacatay sauce that comes with the rotisserie chicken: yummy! Also the fries were very good. Prices: good as well! And Mr. Miguel, the owner: a super nice person and providing the best service. Oh and they have Inca Kola : Thank you for the gift of Peruvian food in the middle of Upstate NY!!
The rotisserie chicken is the best I have had in the area! Forget about picking one up at Costco or Sam's, this is the place to get it from. Chicken was fresh, juicy, spiced just right and full of flavor. The sides were fresh and complimented the meal well. I ordered a salad and the fried rice. There is a bit of an Asian flair to this place as well. I will be back again.
Very friendly staff and good food. Not a huge selection but the chicken was terrific. The fries under the chicken added to the flavor. Glad this building is no longer empty. Great addition to the variety of ethnic foods in the area.
Everything was pretty basic for the most part. The chicken had some pink spots, but the cooked parts were ok. The rice was like a fried brown rice from a Chinese restaurant. The French fries were something you could buy from the grocery store. The salad was pretty boring and the dressing that came with it was kinda gross. The tres leches was disgusting, tasted like the shell of pills if you know what I mean. That weird flavor of the outer shell of medicine. Its a small piece for such a large price. The only thing I liked was the beef empanadas. There were 2 sauce options, one green, one orange and they didn't have much flavor. I would say this isn't an accurate representation of Peruvian food but it is my first time trying it :
Chicken was good, had good herb flavor, rosemary and likely thyme. They were only offering fries and salad as the side dishes, but I'm assuming that's likely covid related and I can understand that. I will go back, hopefully they'll have more of a selection by then.
This is hands down the best rotisserie chicken place in the area. They do excellent authentic Peruvian cuisine!
The owner was very nice. We had never been before and he had taken the time to explain some of the dishes and made some great recommendations. The salad was very fresh... like picked from the garden today fresh. The dressing was light, tasty and with a bit of zing. The chicken was hot, tender, juicy and full of amazing flavor. The dipping sauces for the fries, were full of flavor and a bit spicy. We will certainly be back. Overall EXCELLENT.
We were out exploring and came across Cholita's around lunch time so decided to give it a try. We were very glad we did. This was the most tender, best seasoned rotisserie chicken we have ever had. We have spent much more in upscale restaurants in Miami and Orlando and nothing we have had comes close to the delicious chicken at Cholita's. We happened upon it the first time, we would go out of our way to get it the next time.
Today was my first time dining here and it will definitely not be my last! The owners were super friendly and you could just tell how much love they put into this place! Honestly I was already enjoying myself before the food came out but the food made it even better! To start I got a pastel de chocio…amazing! Then the chicken came out and immediately I knew that it was going to be spectacular and it was… moist and flavorful. And I’m not one to usually comment on French fries but they were also notably fantastic!
The chicken is INCREDIBLE. Very juicy! Excellent flavor. I always go for the dark meat, but even the white meat was delicious. Next time I will add a particular hot sauce to it, but for this first experience I wanted the flavor to be "unadulterated". My reason for giving only four stars is the menu shows they have pinto beans, but was told they don't when I was ordering. Also, there were no utensils or napkins in my bag. I stopped there for lunch in my truck, so if I didn't already have extras with me, I would have been in trouble.
