To me, the food is just okay. The food always seems to take longer to pick up than the time I was told by the person that answers the phone. My wife surprisingly to me loves the food here, which is the only reason for the 3 stars.
Fantastic! We ordered the family dinner for four. It was a good deal, four full orders, a large white rice and a large fried rice, four each of ribs , wonton , eegroll and a large wonton soup with a lot of meat in the wontons. Each dish had a good amount of meat and a good variety of real Chinese vegetables ,, bok choy , water chest , bamboo shoots , sprouts , ect. NOT like some places that just use carrots and peas and celery! For $50+ dollar's it's a lot of quality food. We had plenty of leftovers!
This is a great Chinese food takeout place. Support your local business. The owners of this place live in your community. They aren't part of a national mega chain of restaurants owned by elites that homogenize everything, destroy the fabric of society, and don't care about your neighborhood.Food: 5/5
Egg rolls not up to par.... missy that certain flavor, the wrappers are a bit thin. Chicken chow main Cantonese style a big waste, bunch of green veggies with 4 peices of chicken, but the noodles were good. Wont repeat.
It is pretty standard chinese food, but better than what you find in the surrounding area. Doesn't taste overly oily, and their chicken fried rice is a fantastic side for the special combos.
Why are these reviews 4 to 6 years old? Has anyone patronized this take-out within the last couple months?
I got some sweet and sour chicken and some of them were hard as rock. They also didnt taste right. Also just found out that there was hair in some of our food. Majorly disapointed. Chinese Ho has to Chinese Go
2.5 stars: Chinese Ho was a Chinese No for the most part. The egg roll and beef broccoli were extremely salty. There was so much goopy sauce in the BB that the broccoli was just soggy. The stars are for the fried rice and Mongolian beef, which were good--not great. Also food was ready within 15 minutes, which was great.
We have enjoyed Chinese Ho for years through different ownership. The current owners are upholding the quality we have enjoyed. I didn't intend to write a review but I saw 2 other reviews posted that state "fantastic atmosphere and delicious food and drinks" and "enjoyed the environment of this restaurant". They maybe confused as to which restaurant they are reviewing because this is a carryout place that does not serve drinks/alcohol. Enjoy this place for very good carryout food.
I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food. I have tried MANY local Chinese restaurants. For several years I traveled from Wheaton to Wheeling IL for my Chinese takeout until I discovered Chinese Ho carry out in Winfield, IL a couple of years ago. Delicious food, reasonable prices, kind and friendly staff. Definitely worth trying. Who knows...like me it may be just what you are looking for! : C. West
