I love this store! Owner is very friendly, caring and knowledgeable. They always have what I’m looking for and I usually have some great conversations while I’m there as well! They really care about your health and happiness. Definitely a gem.
The sourdough bread they sell every Tuesday is fantastic. Make sure to be there early! They also sell the best non toxic lemon all surface cleaner. So few ingredients and yet really effective.
I've been going to Chicory for yrs even prior to Dave and Lorna owning the store. They are friendly helpful and have a wealth of knowledge. There I spend quite awhile at their card selection. Always a stop on our way north. Dud I mention the baked goods for the ride!
i’ve just recently discovered this store, and i love it! they have a great selection of vegan foods, and the staff are always so friendly. amazing people to converse with, and they take their time to get to know their customers.
They have a great selection of bulk herbs and are willing to get some in for you if they don't have it. Very friendly. Great food. A wonderful spot to go for a delicious and nutritious lunch I think they don't wear masks because they don't believe they are helpful and they are concerned about the negative effects of masking on us all.They do have a plexi glass partition at the front counter very friendly and helpful staff. .
Love this store, but won't go back until after the pandemic. They don't wear masks, and have become a bit of a hub for the anti-mask, anti-lockdown crew. Quite a few customers without masks too. Makes me sad, because I otherwise love this business. Curbside pickup might be the best way.
I have visited this store a couple times before. Service has always been good and friendly! Today, I called before heading in from Hanover area to see if they had organic eggs. The owners wife said they did. I asked what the hens ate. She told me she did not know. I drove to the store to check out the eggs and to buy other items. The service today was non existent. When I entered she was on a personal call . I searched for the eggs and other items. I could not find them. Then I stood for about 10 minutes in her view at the till area waiting for assistance. Another lady in the store then walk up to the cash and she continued with her personal call as she stood at the till area. I left when it sounded and looked like she was face timing a child. Since I drove a long way went back into the store about 10 minutes later She was now available. I asked her if they had eggs. She pointed to the back. I was not familiar with the store and could not find them earlier. She indicated that is was inconvienent for her to show me where they were by her expression and her asking me if I needed her to walk back there with me. I asked her again what the hens were fed. She still did not know. I left again as not the trouble the store attendant any further.
I cannot say enough great things, friendly knowledgeable staff, fantastic selection of products and fresh foods, make sure you grab a coffee and a treat before you leave, you wont be disappointed! So worth the drive to Durham.
Thank you for allowing freedom of choice. Exemptions must be honoured no questions asked. If you follow all guidelines then your not doing anything wrong! The people that worry about the masks should just stay home or order curb side. Keep up the great work.
YOU MUST STOP HERE!!!! This place is fantastic!!! The menu is interesting, health conscious and absolutely delicious. Today I had the Oatmeal Cashew Burger served on a fresh whole wheat sesame seed kaiser. Topped with lettuce, tomato, micro greens. Super fresh!! So tasty, so good!!!! Vegetable Miso Eggdrop Soup was incredible and pack full of veggie goodness. All homemade, no shortcuts. You can shop here too. Local eggs, milk, meats and shelves full of deliciousness. Supplements too. WELL DONE!!!! Thank you
