Awesome fried chicken. The chicken is hot and juicy, and they have really tasty fries as well. I just recently tried their chicken strips, and I was impressed with them too. Finally, the corn fritters that come with the meals here are fantastic. The portions are quite large and the prices are very reasonable given how much food you get. The staff have always been friendly as well. I highly recommend this place if you want some fried chicken.
This is the place to go for Chicken the way it used to be. Crispy Moist and Ultra tasty! Way better than that other chicken place. The gravy is okay but could be a little better. Hopefully they're working on improvement! They have Corn Fritters awesome yummy spread jam on them and savor the flavor! The Service is Excellent People have been Nice and Friendly! Can't say enough good things about this place Please just go try for yourself you Won't be Disappointed!
I eat regularly at chicken on the way because it is an awesome deal there. Huge pieces of excellent chicken and loads of fries. I tell people to go all the time! However, my first time at the St Albert location was very disappointing. Got the three piece... no breast... just a TINY thigh, a smaller leg and half a wing. Half a wing!!?? Really? And a little bag of fries. A bag? In the 5 locations i have been to between Edmonton and Calgary i have never seen such miserly portions. I should have guessed that something was wrong with this location when i saw, during my 20 minute wait, that they actually CHARGE for condiments! Thats right... 25c for packets of mustard or ketchup. Unbelievable. Avoid this location. Brutal. And the franchise might want to have a word with the owner. Bad service and tiny portions will stunt the franchise...
While we love Chicken on the way and are frequent diners in the Calgary and Edmonton locations, I would not go to this location again. The wait of 15+ minutes takes this out of the running for ‘fast food’, in my opinion. Our order was then wrong - 8 not 12 pieces. By that time, we were not willing to wait another 15 minutes for more chicken. To use the bathroom, my kids had to walk through the wide open kitchen and prep area where both food and big chef knives were laying within easy reach. The chairs and tables were of the cheap, folding variety - not at all comfortable or inviting. I love supporting local and family run businesses but not ones that look like this. If I didn’t already know that I enjoy the food, I wouldn’t go much farther than glancing in and walking by.
We went with family it's nice crispy chicken and corn fritters test good. Also friendly staff for serving food. All food fresh cooked.
Great place for take out fried chicken, tried both flavors and they are seanoned well. Not salty compared to popeyes, kfc and even mary browns. Fries are not frozen, they cut them fresh everyday. Corn fritters are great, a little bit greasy but thats given with deep fried food. Friendly staff, great overall experience.
This place is good bang for the buck and very delicious, but the chicken and fries are pretty greasy. No choices for spice levels or type of coating on the chicken. Only 2 makeshift tables in here and with the grease smell from the kitchen, you wouldn't want to spend any time inside anyway.
Love the taste and good quality of food. Staff is very friendly. I would recommend this takeaway to you guys for best food experience.
Just ordered Chicken On The Way from the St. Albert AB location. IT WAS TERRIBLE! Chicken was dry and french fries were over cooked. Ordered through SkipTheDishes, so with the delivery charges and tip, it was quite expensive. Bought the 8 piece dinner and threw 6 pieces in the organic bin. Will definitely not be buying dinner from this site again!
Glad they are back.Brings back fond memories. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. Fries are made fresh in-house and are delicious. Good value for the money as well which is a bonus. Give them a try.
