FRESHLY COOKED homemade meal that was so delicious I literally ate too fast. Sometimes, schnitzels can be too chewy, not this one. Perfectly seasoned and cooked, the side of vegetables had a nice spice as well. We like laid back patios, so we picked this place for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner, and it was worth it.
Very hearty and homey feeling. Service is a bit slower because it’s one lady doing everything - she’s very nice and sweet. The spaetzel in the goulash was SO good - tasted really fresh and home made. We had the lamb and beef goulash - both were great!
A Hungarian restaurant serving delicious authentic Hungarian stuff. It's a small place while approaching Mount Royal. Moderately pricedFood: 5/5
So delicious! Very nostalgic and feels like being at my nagymama's house. Some negative comments about the food seemed to be from people who don't know what Hungarian food is - that's totally okay, they don't have to like it, but their critique is less about this place and more about their preferences. It's a one-woman show in there, so appreciate it for that and be more patient ; . Excited to go back!
best home restaurant i have tried in mtl.Repeated 3 times .Im from a Chinese banquet chef family and i do highly recommend Chez Anna.
Just like Mom and Grand Mom used to cook. Anna is not just a cook. She is a gastronomic miracle. We had a crepe appetizer swimming in a gorgeous sauce, paprika chicken to die for, and pork schnitzel so big it was falling off the plate. Also cucumber salad with the meal. Everything delicious. Not a fancy place, but friendly and delicious. Parking: Meter pay parking close by.
One of the best Beef Goulash I have ever tried. Every time I come to Montreal to visit my parents, I beg them to take me here! The food is very natural and fresh and the lady who owns the place is the sweetest and cooks with lots of love. Very expensive though.Recommended dishesBeef Goulash
Saw this place on Uber Eats and the reviews were extremely good so I decided to give it a try. The schnitzel feast was excellent, especially for 40 dollars. Huge cuts of meat, good quality home cooked style food, authentic taste. Everything I had was very good to excellent. The spaetlze is homemade! The packaging is nearly all paper, so it's environmentally friendly but also not the most durable. They do use plastic for the sauciest things, but I'd still recommend bringing a plastic bag for takeout. The restaurant should also consider taping containers when appropriate although definitely don't seal the schnitzel--that would make it soggy. Really recommend this place for the quality and price. I can't wait to eat there in person. :
Anna is very kind and passionate about her food. When you come to her restaurant you immediately feel very welcomed. The food is amazing and not too expensive for mtl prices. Service is great as well, thank you Thomas and Rudi.
Delicious traditional Hungarian food made with love right in front of you! Authentic taste, attention to details, Anna is the Hungarian grandmother we never had!
