Story

Cheyenne sprang up in the path of the transcontinental railroad in 1867 as it crossed the great plains. Nicknamed "Hell on Wheels,"the rowdy town of railroad workers and soldiers from nearby Fort D.A. Russell was teeming with numerous saloons and burlesque theaters. Cheyenne did not remain a wild town for long, as a booming livestock industry attracted investment from eastern and foreign cattle barons. With this new wealth, Cheyenne developed fine hotels, theaters and the first opera house west of the Mississippi. In the 1880s, Cheyenne was the wealthiest per capita city in the world. The state Capitol's dome was even covered in gold leaf. Folks came from all over to "Live the Legend" that Cheyenne was known for.

The Cheyenne Police Department was created to protect residents and visitors alike. Cheyenne is still the hub of state government, progressive business and destination for those who wish to "Live the Legend" of the old west.

Much like the earlier lawmen who gave their blood, sweat and tears to protect Cheyenne from the outlaws of yesterday, the professional women and men of today's Cheyenne Police Department continue to be leaders in public safety by fulfilling its mission of "Protecting the Legend" that Cheyenne is known for

Mission

The Cheyenne Police Department is "Protecting the Legend" of Cheyenne by working in cooperation with citizens to lead the charge in preventing crime and defending the rights of the community.

THE OFFICER THAT CAME WAS REAL NICE TO ME TODAY BUT NOT VERY HELPFUL, i recorded a crime on my security system i watched it as it happened i called the non emergency number when i saw what was happening the woman on the phone said an officer will come out i informed them i recorded this event. 4hrs later no response from cheyenne police looks like people in this screwed up town will get away with murder since there is no police here to do what they are paid to do

I am being harassed by a man that assaulted me 12 years ago. I live in another state. On 3 different occasions I've called dispatch to speak to a female dispatcher that completely interrupts me while I'm trying to explain the harassment. He's called my parents, my work, my friends. He's assaulted me. THEY ARE SO RUDE AND WILL NOT LET ME SPEAK!!!! They won't help me at all. If you live in Cheyenne the cops do not care about women. Stay away from Manuel Degobbi. Worst police interaction ever.

Growing up I was told never to call the cops and ive always kinda kept that in my mind. Im 23 now and I have called the police 3 times in my life once when my uncle was beating my aunts ass being 14 I didn't know what else to do, when they arrived they investigated alittle I stayed in my grandmas room not wanting to catch hell from calling the cops and it wasnt until I seen them leaving without my unlce I walked to see why they wernt taking him I was told they can't do anything because my aunt didn't want to press charges being her eye was nearly swelled shut from the abuse I didnt understand why it mattered. Nothing happened just left her him there togoo resume the abuse. 2nd time I was 21 and my car was stolen I didn't think I had a choice but to call the cops, they did find my car flipped over on south greely somewhere after explaining that my car was indeed stolen and that it was not me that wrecked it for about 20mins they left and me and my wife kinda did our own investigation and a few days later we found out who took my car from the grapevine of a kid bragging about stealing a dodge stratus and wrecking at a party. I called the officer that gave me his card and told him the kids first middle and last name thanks to facebook only to never hear from the officer again about the subject. Lastly was yesterday my grandma lives with me and my wife and has manic depression and bipolar 2 I believe but it is only triggered when someone in the family passes away. She found out about her friend from Arizona passed away a month ago and it triggered her disorder and when it triggers she will not sleep making it even worse saying very unusual and kinda creepy things the longer it goes on the worse it gets about 2 weeks of not sleeping later she was at my grandpas in glendo, we received a call saying that they took her to a mental instatution because she tried to kill my grandpa by unplugging his oxygen tank after a week and without my grandpa wanting to press charges the let her go she returns home with us and right away I can tell shes not better we put up with the with her acting weird, not sleeping for a week until after going with my brother out to lunch she returns home in a frenzy and starts destroying the house I asked my brother what happened he said she said her money was gone but when we called her card it was still on there, not knowing what to do I tried to tune it out just knowing its her illness but just for her to start throwing magazines at me and carry on destroying the house, being my son (2years old) is in the next room I didn't know what to do. I hear her talking to her life alert thing in her room, i try to explain to them whats going on not to cause a panic and I need them to send someone to evaluate her because shes throwing things at me and destroying stuff while my child is here. Keeping in mind that she tried to kill my grandpa last week I was kinda worried not sure what she was going to do next. When I have her go outside and wait for them to arrive so she can no longer break anything. When they do I was getting my son dressed so I can go outside and explain whats going on but I did not get him dressed fast enough the police were already at my door knocking I open it and try to explain whats going on just to have the officer keep interrupting me saying that I can not kick her out. I in no way kicked her out I did tell her to go outside if shes going to keep breaking my stuff. Getting more and more frustrated over her not letting me speak I call my dad and have him explain whats going on since I was no longer able to find the right words he does and they go off on the cant kick her out thing and I lost it I start screaming at her that no one is kicking her out and that she needs to be evaluated because she tried to kill my grandpa is throwing things at me my son is here in the house and I know that shes not sleeping and I have no clue what shes going to do next. After that they finally take her just to release her 10min later no evaluation or anything so once again the police did absolutely nothing

Cheyenne Police are criminals with badges! Cheyenne Police protect "highly connected" criminals rather that arresting them.
