I recently participated in the Santa Christmas Market at this center. The hall was spacious and well-ventilated, with excellent temperature control and fresh air circulation, keeping everyone comfortable. The center itself is large, bright, and impeccably clean. The atmosphere is friendly, designed to accommodate people of all ages and needs comfortably. The parking lot is also sizable, and finding an open space was no trouble at all.
Played one game here for a hockey tournament. Easy to locate, ample parking, arena in great condition. Dressing rooms are on the slightly smaller size but adequate. Benches are large with ample room for players and coaches.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the amazing staff at Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex. They’re always friendly, professional, and make every visit enjoyable. However, there is a serious issue that needs to be addressed by the City of Pickering: the elevator in the complex has been out of service for over two months, and there has been no visible effort to resolve the problem. This situation is unacceptable.nnAs a taxpayer, I expect timely and efficient services, especially when it comes to critical infrastructure like elevators. Unfortunately, it seems that the city is slow to take action. It’s frustrating to see our tax money collected but essential repairs delayed. The delay in fixing something as important as an elevator reflects poorly on the city's priorities and efficiency.nnI urge the Mayor of Pickering and city officials to step in and expedite the approval process for repairs. It’s disappointing to think that documents related to important issues like this may just be sitting on desks without action. If the current team can’t handle these responsibilities, then maybe it’s time for some new hires who will get the job done with greater urgency.nnPlease take this issue seriously and work toward a solution as soon as possible. The residents and visitors of Pickering deserve better.
It is a very well maintained place, clean and organized.nnThe only reason I didn't put a 5 star is because and I understand why they keep the pool at the lowest temperature they're allowed, so people doing a workout won't sweat but it's just hard to get used to the temperature.
Let me tell you why this place is bad somewhatnThe pool 1 star: The lifeguards terrible at doing their jobs and are disrespectful. absolutely NO WARMTH in the pool. I’m 100% sure that the only pool they actually heat other than the hot tub is the kiddie pool.nThe change rooms 1 star: Keypads on lockers don’t work, half the bathrooms are out of order, i felt like i was trying to solve a puzzle when looking for a stall with no one inside it.nThe front 3 stars: Couches are good, the rooms are nice, the tv doesn’t work for some reason, the people at the front desk are nice.nThe internet 2 stars: let me cut to the chase, it’s terrible but it’s decent.nthe vending machines 2 stars: Options are good, but WHY SO EXPENSIVE?!nthat’s itnTotal review: 1 star.
