I've enjoyed several meals now at Chef Simon's Kitchen and they've all been excellent. My last visit was on Friday, March 17/2023 and I had the Pad Woon Sen, but with different noodles and added Beef. It was very tasty and satiating! The food quality is very high and the portion sizes are great value for the money, which they are fairly priced, I must add. The folks who own this place are very kind and I highly recommend giving this place a try. Thank you. 5/5 Stars!
Small place but very welcoming. And such lovely service. Even went out of there way to make noodles for my little one to try.Can't wait to come back. And the food is fantastic I had the beef noodle dish highly recommend.Food: 5/5
We trusted the reviews for this place and were excited to try this place. Firstly, the price specified is wrong and most items are actually $2 to 5 more than what been mentioned on here. The lady was very friendly and we loved the service. We had the beef pho soup and before I was able to finish it, I had to run to the bathroom! My guts were messed up from eating that soup and the next day my bf was on the toilet too. This soup gave us a terrible food poisoning ! I wouldn't be returning and I wouldn't recommend going there either. Great service but the food, not so much.
Had a lunch with a few friends who visiting me from Toronto at Chef Simon’s Kitchen, everyone was so impressed with the authentic Vietnamese food in our small town, Orillia. Bhai Mi Sandwich Vietnamese spring and noodle soup were so tasty, they said they are better than they had in Toronto. Yah, so happy to hear that!Recommended dishesBeef Noodle Soup, Bhai MI Sandwich
I've come here a number of times and have always had delicious meals. Most recently had the Vietnamese sandwich combo lemongrass Porkbelly--it's spicy. If you haven't tried it before, just think thick-cut bacon pieces. The combo also comes with a pop. Simon is still the one behind preparing the food. I got a picture of him frying the porkbelly in the skillet. The food has always been great here and I will continue coming back
SO good! Peanut curry sauce was delicious. Vietnamese spring rolls and pork belly sandwich was amazing! Order was ready right on time & friendly service. We will definitely be back to order again!
My first time coming here, I was looking forward to Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwich. I never knew we it would be a restaurant serving it so far north. Later, I moved to orillia and decided to try pho as the banh mi are out of this world, simply amazing! I started with beef, who is the standard that everyone tries on their first time, and is delicious! The broth, I never tried something as rich and original, makes me wonder if I ever got good pho before! Later, I decided to get out of my bubble and try their chicken pho... new world open to me! I couldn't believe it would be something more delicious than that! But again, I was wrong. Then I was told to try wonton soup chicken pho with wonton dumplings. Incredible is another step to how incredible the chef and good talent! Prices are fair for the quantity, and the service is amazing! Please make a visit. You would not regret it! Note: I wish I had more pictures to show, but I am to focus on eating, I forget. I will be adding more.
Ordered some take-out from here. Had red curry chicken and peanut sauce chicken. They were both too spicy for me and not very flavorful. They should also pack soup items in a container that is less likely to spill when ordering out.
My partner and I have come here several times now and have had a wonderful experience every time! The owners are very friendly and welcoming every time we come. Every meal has been flavourful and fresh. My favourites have been the shrimp wonton soup, all of the banh mi sandwiches are absolutely amazing with the most delicious bread, and the peanut chicken curry is so flavourful! You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu, absolutely a hidden gem in Orillia!
Never ordering from here again. Customer service is very poor, zero if I could give them that rating. I ordered food from here for the first time through skip for my break. I work in a hospital. The address was explained in the description also. They did not deliver the food. I called the restaurant to ask for help. They are not willing to help and adviced me to take it up with the skip the dishes, they gave me the number to call. Despite me explaining my situation. Skip doesn’t receive any calls anymore so I called the restaurant back. The simons kitchen restaurant is now ignoring my calls; despite me being polite and professional with them in attempt to address the issue. You can refer to their response to this message as an example. They seem to be indifferent that their customer has paid for their order that they did not even receive. First time experiencing such encounter from a restaurant. I am rather disappointed for the way I was treated as a customer. “Thai plate” in Orillia is a much more professional with great service/food; I have not experienced any problems with them. If you are looking for thai plate in Orillia.
