After reading some of the reviews I was concerned about visiting one of my favorite places that I haven't been to in a while. Not sure why there is so much negativity. it was very busy on a Monday afternoon. Some people had the buffet. Some ordered off the menu. Parking was impossible but we went down a extra block. All four of us had the lunch buffet. Everything was really good. The food was fresh. Options were good. The soup has always been my favorite. Our service was great. I ordered 2 meals to go and I was told that they were also very good. Decor hasn't changed a bit in over 30 years but it's still a really good place to go for Chinese food.
Waitress was good, food on the other hand was a disappointment. Lemonade tasted like sugar water, couldn't find any crab in the Rangoon that were greasy and not served with a sauce. The orange chicken was the worst I have ever had. It was so syrupthat it was not edible and the little bowl of chicken noodle soup tasted like it came from a can. My husband had the house special fried rice which was okay. Not worth the $38 we spent. We came here one other time for the Sunday buffet which, although small was decent. Maybe there's a different cook or changed owners?!?!
These is an amazing place, the food is by far the best. The Thai Curry with shrimp is perfection. The gentleman who served us 4/13/23 evening, you are awesome and handled everything perfectly!
Not a fancy place, and not an extensive menu, but the food is great. Some of the best Chinese food and soup I've had in MI. Service is always great too. Will make it as spicy or mild as you like.Food: 5/5

This is our local favorite! You absolutely won't find a better egg drop soup anywhere, and I mean anywhere! The staff is always very friendly and the food is quite good.. They just need to freshen & update the decor.Food: 4/5
I'm from out of town and found this place while waiting for laundry. Hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had. The lunch buffet was delicious and priced well for what was there. I will definitely be coming back next year when we visit the area again!
Great food great service so glad they were open for dine in had a great time and really enjoyed our food back agian so good had a wonderful dinner.
Phee Hang of Chee Peng’s Restaurant originally came from Laos, a culture where food is a common language often used to express love, friendship, and gatherings. This restaurant was opened in 1993 because the owner liked Gladwin — it is a safe place with very little crime. A good small restaurant with friendly staff. The food is absolutely delicious. If you're in Gladwin try this place.
I am so glad I stopped in ordered Chinese from Chee Peng. By dar the best Chinese food! Thank you, definitely will be back.
