The food here is very good. I didn't particularly like the ginger beef dish though as it doesn't taste like ginger beef. The small pieces of beef ??? were covered in batter and tastes more like sweet n sour meat which I dislike. I think they gave me honey garlic pork instead. If this was ginger beef then every restaurant has their own version of ginger beef but this one was not the traditional type. The chow mein and beef pan fried rice noodle were really good. The squid had a spicy taste to it too which was a good touch. Overall, 4 outta 5.
Quality and taste were not the best. The tofu tasted a bit old, but both the Almond chicken and beef with green beans were fine. The wonton soup was strangely sweet? I don't remember it being like that the last time I ordered so they might've changed this. The saddest thing is that they sent us the smaller sized portions for the Combo For Two items. I ordered this a couple months ago and it was the regular "large" size like the rest. Why change this?! I've ordered from here for years but this is one of the worst times. Very disappointing...
The combo menu items are very "Western" and caters to that group. My Chow Mein dish was large, but I didn't like the MSG. The place is convenient and there aren't that many Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. This place is not your typical greasy spoon like the ones in and around Vancouver. The prices were reasonable, but you'll enjoy the meal when you ask them to prepare the dish with less MSG.
My friends and I were very happy with the taste of food! The portions are big and service was great. Definitely will come back. P.S. vegan dish was very very good
I arrived on Lunar New Year and no one was dining in. Pick up was 10 minutes later than the high end of the range they said it would take. Beef and broccoli was good as broccoli were cooked perfectly. Sweet and sour pork was very chewy and a bit too sweet. Chow mein had a very earthy aftertaste to it. All dishes were not too greasy but overall I would unfortunately have to say I’ve had better quality at most Chinese food court chains.
Update: We continue to love this place. This evening they gave us the wrong dish and immediately corrected the mistake by giving us the incorrect dish to take home at no charge. That's class. Great tasting food as always. Older review: Yum! We overdosed on several items I forgot to take pics!! such as sweet and sour chicken balls, ginger chicken, boneless pork and chow mein. It was all delicious and leftovers for lunch the next day. Open for dining. Clean and upbeat decor, friendly staff. Street parking, handicap accessible. We will definitely go back.
The food was OK but overpriced, they are charging at least $3-$4 more for fried rice than anyone else and most of the dishes have higher prices as well, so image my surprise when I discovered the fried rice appears to be completely unseasoned. Where's the salt?? It lacked flavor due to a lack of even a pinch of salt, I had to salt it myself which is not something I expect to need to do for what turned out to be an $80 meal. Crispy ginger beef was more like candied ginger beef, extremely sweet which isn't necessarily bad if you like it and we like sweet but I can see that being a real problem for others. Most likely I can get the same meal for $60 less somewhere else, and the rice will actually have taste. I won't buy again from here.
This place doesn't leave a number on the main search on Google maps, so it redirects you to their website where you are forced to order online... no problem. Picked the dish I wanted at 37.80 combo for two. Go to pay for it and since you put in your credit card information first before the payment page it automatically process the payment without 'confirming' they AUTO charge A TIP of $3!!!! When did it become okay to force a tip on customers who are ordering?!? Not okay and the food size was horribly small! So my bill came to $43! Insane and not okay... this is Canada where tips are subject to customer discretion
Delicious chinese-canadian food. It's improved in flavour and quality. Prices have gone up slightly, but what hasn't? Lunch specials are great, as are the combos, you get a ton of food, enough for lunch the next day. The BEST chicken chow mein I've had!
The food was okay. The chili chicken was great but the chowmein was okay. Their service was not great as they took a long time to give the food even though we ordered ahead. I liked the soup but it was not out of the world.Food: 4/5
