This is a really good Freshco. This grocery store has almost everything you need, plus some other items you might not find at other stores. Unlike the other locations, this Freshco has a Fraserview Meats counter, where they sell fresh marinated meats of various kinds. They also have a variety bulk department at the front western corner of the store. The Abbotsford Freshco is a good alternative grocery store to shop at.
I visited FreshCo Abbotsford and was disappointed by how misleading their price-match promotion is. They do offer price matching, but only if the item is on sale at both stores—which makes the whole idea pointless. Meanwhile, outside the store there’s a huge banner claiming “Price Match” and “Guaranteed Lowest Price,” which feels almost hilarious compared to the reality.nnWhen I asked about it, the customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. Overall, the experience felt frustrating and not transparent. I hope FreshCo improves their communication and trains staff to explain policies honestly, so customers don’t feel misled.nnAlso better to do a honest sales rather cheating. It wasted our time too. Simply pathetic.
I’ve been shopping at this grocery store for some time, mainly due to its convenient location and frequent discounts that make it more affordable than some competitors like Save-On-Foods and even Superstore. However, I’ve noticed a number of serious issues that need to be addressed.nnFirstly, the cleanliness of the store—particularly the washrooms—is unacceptable. On more than one occasion, I’ve encountered extremely unsanitary conditions, including visible waste smeared on the garbage can and last week there was blood on the floor! This poses a significant health risk and reflects poorly on the store’s commitment to hygiene and customer safety.nnAdditionally, I’ve experienced problems with pricing and customer service. There have been multiple instances where I was overcharged and then had to take out of my day and gas to go back and get it refunded. Very disappointing.nLastly, while the store appears to employ a large number of individuals from one specific culture, it would be refreshing to see a more balanced representation of staff that reflects the diversity of the community. Inclusive hiring practices help ensure that all customers feel equally respected and understood.nnI hope management takes these concerns seriously. With some improvement in cleanliness, staff training, and a more thoughtful approach to customer service, this store has the potential to become a much better place to shop. Thanks!
Rotten Chicken and Poor Handling of a Serious Food Safety Concern: Fraserview MeatsnnVery disappointed with how this store handled a serious food safety issue. I bought fresh chicken that turned out to be rotten soon after I got home. When I returned it with the receipt, staff said “no exchange, no refund.” I made it clear I wasn’t asking for money — I just wanted them to handle the situation reasonably.nnThey said they’ve had previous issues with customers buying full cases of chicken and returning empty boxes, which is why they now refuse refunds or exchanges. That’s unfair to genuine customers who bring valid concerns. The employee also mentioned the product might have been out of temperature while they were handling it, which was alarming to hear.nnI shop here almost daily and often buy chicken from this location, but this experience really shook my confidence. They refused to give anything in writing and said the owner would contact me — though I’m not expecting much.nnI hope management takes this seriously. Food safety and proper customer care should never be dismissed so casually.
The manager at this meat shop has absolutely no idea how to speak to customers. Rude, dismissive, and full of attitude for no reason. If you don’t know how to deal with people, you shouldn’t be the manager of the franchise that depends on customers. Terrible customer service and an even worse attitude. Won’t be coming back.nManager working on Feb-5, Thursday at 7pm.
