I asked to take a class on vaccine education that is typically offered free to parents who would like to learn more &/or for their children to be exempt from vaccines my child is vaccinated, but I am interested in the information that they present to families who are considering non vaccination due to philosophical, religious, or personal reasons. so when asking to set up an appt for this class I was told there is no class offered and to just speak to the nurse who will be administering the vaccines. What if I was a parent who was against this? It's like "comply or else" with these people! If they have the information then why are they not willing to educate people on this important subject? She acknowledged that their website specifically directs patients to schedule this so called class yet no such class exists... um? When going to any appointment, I expect to wait but the wait times here are beyond ridiculous, it took an hour just to be seen, we were their 1st appt of the day! How do you fall an hour behind schedule when you havent seen anyone yet? The wait really was longer than acceptable, especially for the amount of staff they have. Maybe they double booked the appt but either way, it's unacceptable. The building is fairly new but it does not appear to be thoroughly cleaned..little things that really matter are being overlooked, such as clean chairs to sit in, children's toys that should be sanitized, Kleenex boxes left out that are completely empty, drinking fountain slimy... The "free" WiFi is not connected, even though their tv constantly plays an ad reminding you to connect to their free WiFi and showing exactly how to connect. It seems like nobody cares but it's probably just oversights. It is disheartening to say that the two positive points to our experience were they got us in within a few days and the nurse who administered the vaccinations. Her name is DJ, and she was very kind, gentle and took a great sense of pride in her role as a nurse working for the people in her county. I am really sad to see the health department like this, in the town I grew up in and advocate for! I would really like to learn how to help make things better for the youth in our beautiful county. The future is held in the hearts and hands of our children, let's give them the world by providing them with a better example.
Unable to make an appointment more than 3 weeks in advance. Slow, slow, slow once actually at the appointment. A privately owned business that ran this efficiently would have had to close up shop within a month of opening.
My child's arm blew up like a hard rock from a tetanus shot that he got here in 2018. This is the worst reaction our family has ever encountered, just warning others! On way to an actual Dr!
I would rate a 0 star if I could. They do not work with their constituents they work against, my disdain for them is off the charts.
