The parking fees are 10 dollars per hour, or fifty dollars for the day, which is robbery. Don't you dare put up a shade canopy, it's against the law! We were forced to take down our 10x10 canopy. Other than that, it's a beautiful place. There was a Splash ON activity centre in the water which was really cool. I paid 25 dollars for my teenage son to go on for two hours. He really enjoyed it. While that was happening, I was in the water with my other son, who is 3. We stayed for 7 hours, so it was the right decision to pay the day rate for parking, but I still think it's a bit steep. It would be reasonable to charge about half of that in my opinion. We will not return to this beach only because of the price of parking. If the city of Barrie wishes to attract and maintain tourism, they really need to change this.
Amazing place!! So much stuff to do and enjoy. Swimming with life guards, just hang out on the beach, have a picnic with family/friends, places to bbq. Water slides, kayaking, boating, playground .. I didn't even get to see everything. There is a place for snacks and ice cream near the bathroom area. Great place for walking, running, biking, roller blading, lots of space for everyone. Had lots of fun with my boys.
Fun place for the whole family....except four-legged family members who are not allowed on the beach. Would give 5 stars if there was a dogs-allowed-on-the-beach option. But otherwise, lots for the kiddos to do, nice sandy beach, clear water, beautiful view.
Absolutely beautiful area, the beach area is abit smaller than other beaches but its really nice. The water is clean and pretty. They have a nice water play set up on the water. The only complaint is the price of parking is steep. $10 per hour and only visa or Master card available or Quarter's, loonies and toonies don't think about not paying.. They give out tickets often. I was there for the hour and came to parking lot and alot of cars were ticketed for not having bought a ticket to show. This is a beautiful place to go visit for couple hours if you're ok with paying the parking.
a favourite beach of ours! the park is huge with many options for the little ones, a canteen for food/drinks, public washrooms, in the summer they have a giant floating island that's tons of fun, and the water is beautiful!
Very nice beach in downtown Barrie. Several attractions for children and adults, good access to the water, enough space for sunbathing. This place is great for warm summer days, relaxing with family and friends. There are restaurants and shops nearby. And of course the biggest attraction Splash ON Water Parks.
It's a nice beach but the sand area's pretty short. Overall was nice since we arrived early and got a spot BUT they had someone patrolling telling people to take down their tents because of some new bylaw??? Any tent or four pole covering that wasn't infant sized had to be taken down. Really mad since we also had an infant with us but no exceptions b/c of tent size. ONLY one pole umbrellas were allowed and it was a 35C day with a heat warning. Don't understand this rule at all. If it's a space issue just limit one tent per family or gathering! Not to mention after we as well as many other people took our tents down, more people arrived at noon and seemed to be allowed to keep their large tents up?? I'm mad and not just cause I paid $10/hour or $50 a day for parking. Handed a nice man our ticket when we left. Pricing is INSANE.
I hadn't been to this Barrie beach for a long time but I really enjoyed it on my return. It was clean, busy and the weather was perfect. I recommend a visit if your ever in Barrie.
Awesome little Beach, close to downtown Barrie with lots of options for food, drinks and also public bathrooms close by. Great for the kids with lots to do!
Very nice, clean beach. Has clean washrooms. Bring your food, it only has ice cream stand. Or you can buy pizza across from the beach. It has a playground next to it. Also there is a splash area. You can spend a few hours just here.
