This is a really good arena to learn to skate and figure skate. The arena my famliy goes to on a Sunday mornings doesn't have boards, so it's more for recreational skating. It has free child and parent skate times on Sundays, which are great and not usually overcrowded.
I have been to many skating rinks. This rink has no fences, but one wall is a mirror, which is very helpful for children to observe the movements. There is a figure skating special on Saturday and it is free.
Lots going on at this recreation complex. A Scarborough fixture for many years it remains a busy part of the community. On site is a hockey arena complete with lots of seating and a separate entrance. There is also an indoor pool that offers many activities from swimming lessons to recreational swimming. Another rink features the Ice Galaxy, home of Scarborough figure skating club and offering recreational skating at certain times. This rink has an enclosed gallery overlooking the rink which is warm and spacious. In the entrance way there is a snack bar open only during certain hours and a small sitting area with tables. Washrooms are available in all of the areas. Though the complex shows some signs of its age it is functional and well kept. Check out the large butterfly mural outside on the north side of the building. The outside park area features, tennis courts, a large dog park, and a playground as well as lots of green space
Its a good place but swimming area is so busy. I wish there is a way to register for particular time that's not busy. Also changing room is a mess. There isn't any partition on the male side and its very unpleasant. PamAm center is way better than this place but its free here.
Great place to learn to figure skate.nHome to the Scarboro Figure Skating Club, Scarborough Springboard Diving Club, Scarborough Underwater Club and The Centennial Tennis Club. There are a variety of programs and activities for all ages
