It is a very bad school and also has a terrible reputation. And half of the 5 stars are from people who are joking
Just wondering what is being done about the groups of students smoking bongs out beside the church on maitland. Every day at lunch there is always a group sitting beside the church getting stoned. Glad the teachers are paying attention to the student extra curricular activities..
It seems that everyone who is typing these reviews are either parents or students who don't care about school, they either say that the staff is chill and really nice.nHowever it appears they lack a bunch of stuff not mentioned. So, I will be the only one who will give an honest opinion in this school.nI have studied 1 year so far in this school, and my experience with the staff were pretty good, and they kinda try to keep the student always happy. What I just said was were the only good things in this school.nThey seem to only care about teaching you religion and any other things which you will probably not use in your future job you wanna work, for example lets say I want to be a doctor, they for some reason forces you to study all this random stuff which they call *Better Learning* or *You need to know because you are going to use this in the future*, and these include: History, Geography, french, sciencesphysics and Arts. I don't know if these are forced everywhere but one thing I know is that 5% of the teachers there only care about teaching and having the course over with. The 5% are good teachers who are actually different from all the other boring ones, I would say there were only 1 out of 8 teachers that actually was entertaining to watch him teach Santarella, I am not going into depth with him and his course but he is like the only one that brings a fun reason to go to school.nWhat this school lacks teachers, not updated courses, a good library to teach, a horrible system, and the lacking of sharing features that students might want.nThe school has 1 professional engineer, and I guess that's it, because that one engineer teaches pretty much everyone in the whole school about everything engineer has to cover. I had a course which was about computer science, and the whole course we didn't have a teacher, all we had were supply teachers who didn't know nothing about the course. This truly was a horrible experience that I will never forget about the school. Solution: Give us free time to either make us study about other courses or give us free time to learn ANYTHING by youtube or any other app, SIMPLE RIGHT, because I know you don't lack the tools to make this work.nNot updated courses, what I mean by this is that they don't update their textbooks, they use the same old rusty textbooks from like 1970, and the engineer text books must be updated every year because strategies changes quickly, so the same way you got an answer 2 years ago is not as affective as it is today. Solution: Update the textbooks, if not possible, throw them away and stick with youtube videos or apps because I won't learn anything about photoshop if the app is from 30 years ago.nLibrary is decent, if you ofc remove the fact that 90% of the books there suck, they don't teach anything useful there and the library you either do any work you need to do or sleep in the sofas they have.nThey lack the skill to teach, they see the school from their perspective and they attempt to make it *fun* to go to school, but in reality all they do is nothing, they attempt to fix bullying just like they did 10 years ago, why didn't they try to change what they need to teach? or why don't they try to teach you something? because I learned more from 10 youtube videos than in 2 whole courses.nThey for some reason lack the ability to post what they are doing in the school website, for example, there is this IB thing which is pretty popular, so popular that they don't ever attempt to post it or show it to the student, they tell the announcements in the begging of the first class, now if you miss something important there, too bad, you can't get the same information back unless you ask someone about that, and if you don't know about what they just said, good luck trying to figure it out, because they don't even attempt to tell you in any other way. About the IB again, I never knew about it only after a year in the school. They told us about some IB thing in the announcements, but they never told us what it is unless you check through their website.
I love Central high School because I've been there and I finished there
