Really love this place. Has been recommended by few friends and have tried walk-in but failed. I would suggest making a booking in advance though their phone lines are sometimes hard to get through. Managed to get a last minute reservation for lunch on a weekend. It’s really great. It was like those causal bistro with a cozy vibe you see on every street corner in Paris. They serve simple French cuisine in a classic manner. I enjoyed the meal and definitely would like to come back.
Finally we had a chance to eat at this restaurant. As they don't have many seats, if you want to go you have to book at least two weeks in advance. It really was worth the wait. The food is delicious, they change the menu everyday, the food is a typical French restaurant/brassiere, you would feel like you have travelled all the way to France but you are in London Bridge. We will definitely go again. The staff is very professional.
okay this is officially my favourite french restaurant in london. wow!! really lovely and intimate vibes, and the most delicious brasserie dishes. and the house wine was actually amazing for once. the service was a little slow, but i honestly didn’t mind at all given how lovely it was just being inside this place.
A little hidden gem in Bermondsey. I loved the cozy and warm atmosphere there. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful going through the whole daily menu, which included some amazing dishes such as the great beef wellington, rabbit with mustard sauce, and many more. All the food portions were generous and delicious that we almost couldn't stand from the chairs after lunch! Also great value.
Cute little French place in Bermondsey. This place is small so it can be hard to get a table. I manage to get two seats at the counter which is great for watching all the action in this bustling restaurant. The menu changes daily. Unfortunately for me, when we were there the menu had quite a few beef dishes I don’t eat beef. For starters, we had the ravioli with lobster bisque c’est magnifique!, a pig trotters wrapped in filo pastry I thought to myself “Why can’t we Chinese invent a spring roll as good as this???”. For main course, we shared a pan fried plaice. The fish was perfectly cooked, though I couldn’t say it was an inventive recipe. The whole lunch took about 2 hours. We ran out of time to try the dessert. The total cost was approximately £30 per person without drinks.
Every time we go there, we come back with a warm memory. Food is consistently amazing: genuinely truly authentically honest French food, and you almost forget you are on Bermondsey street: nostalgia of Paris! If you feel like you need a bistro experience, this place is the place to be!
Some of the best food I have had in a long time! Went for lunch midweek, and luckily managed to snag a table without needing to book although I think it would be risky to not book in the future. There was a small menu - three choices for starter, main course, and dessert - all of which sounded and looked great. In the end, we had the onion soup, beef wellington, halibut with bacon and lentils, and floating island dishes, all of which were delicious and can thoroughly recommend. There was the choice of still or sparking tap water, which was a nice surprise as you often have to pay for sparkling. The service was prompt and friendly, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. While the restaurant is quite small, I didn't feel particularly crammed in. While the food was quite expensive, I felt like I got my money's worth, and look forward to coming again on a special occasion!!
Formidable. Excellent food, service was a bit slow for the main course but the waiters were both so lovely,we could look past that. Merci and compliments to the chef!! Definitely will be eating here again.Food: 5/5
Delicious small French restaurant! Everything was very uniq, tasty and well presented. Very friendly staff and the interior is very cosy. Make sure you book some days in advance as there are limited tables and it gets busy!
I was already in love with their sister restaurant Pique nique, but I was equally happy with Casse Croûte: very authentic rustic flavours and choices, love the fact that the menu changes everyday! The portions are huge, I loved the terrine de volaille and the lamb chops! The beef bourguignon was so tender and the flavours were so intense you could feel like it’s been stewed for hours and hours! I also really enjoyed the riz au lair and apricot clafoutis as desserts: I came out feeling so full and satisfied! Definitely recommend!
