STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARSTAR. THEY COMPROMISED ME and MY SON’S SAFETY TO SATISFY MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I was advised by insurance to go to this CARSTAR due to proximity to my house. I was rear-ended hard by a car while I was sitting at a stoplight. They estimated ~$5K in damage. I had authorization from my insurance co. for a rental car from date of accident to date of car repair. CARSTAR Downsview went OUT OF THEIR WAY, notwithstanding the insurance’s rental car approval, to tell the insurance company my car was ‘safe to drive’. They communicated this to insurance WITHOUT doing their due diligence which would have necessitated them removing the damaged plastic bumper and checking the reinforcement bar - which serves the actual safety purpose of the bumper. I was given less than 24 hours to return the car and had to drive around in my damaged car for 2 weeks. I moved my car to another repair shop. When they took off the plastic exterior bumper, they discovered that the metal bumper / reinforcement bar had collapsed. ME AND MY SON WERE DRIVING AROUND IN A CAR THAT WOULD NOT HAVE PASSED SAFETY CERTIFICATION IN THE PROVINCE! THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE BUMPER WAS COMPROMISED AND PROVIDED NO SAFETY TO ANYONE IN THE CAR! Shame on you CARSTAR DOWNSVIEW. You put me and my sons well-being in harms way. All to save the insurance company a few hundred $. Without any regard for my safety. If I could give zero stars, I would.Service: Body & Trim

Very nice, polite, and calming service. It is very important at this locations to provide a soothing experience, because people are obviously here when they are not in their greatest state of mind. The staff here is good and able to explain things step-by-step in a direct yet very calm way. They never leave you hanging in doubt as to what to do next. What big shout out to Jonathan who was very professional and explain everything that I need to do.

This is the best experience I have with car repair. I had appointment on Sat 9pm, Trevor was there on time waiting for me and immediately explained to me what’s gonna happen and how it works. He contacted the rental car for me and followed up efficiently on every call I made. My car got repaired and they even washed the car for me before I picked it up!!! I really enjoyed the experience here.

After an unfortunate "hit and run" on my vehicle, I was referred to Carstars Downsview by my insurance company as one of their preferred partners and my experience did not disappoint. From my initial visit, Mike provided me a thorough summary of the impact to the vehicle, what his expected action plan of resolution what and timeline for when the repair would be completed. He took the lead on securing a rental vehicle while my car was being repaired, managed the discussions with my Insurance adjuster and provided me updates through out the repair process. While I would certainly look to avoid in future car incidents, I would certainly refer ANY body work needs to Carstar Downsview for a best in class end to end experience.
