"Behind a 150 year old wall, situated just outside of Wareham, Dorset, sits 3.5 acres in the midst of transformation. Left untouched for more than 40 years, this garden is now flourishing again. Boundaries are soon to be marked by an edible hedgerow. Trees are being planted that’ll fruit the best of British, as well as roses, flowers and a vegetable and herb garden.Beyond a productive and beautiful garden, Carey is a space to grow skills and inspiration through our unique events.Careys Secret Garden is approx. 5 minutes drive from Wareham Train Station, detailed directions will be sent to you with your booking confirmation.The Secret Garden is open Thursday to Saturday each week. All visits must be pre-booked via the website."

What a find! A delightful garden, recently recovered, Heligan style, after 40 years of neglect. A magnificent south facing wall has new young fruit trees espaliered, with free standing fruit trees planted in a wildflower meadow. Beautiful roses and lavender abound. A large kitchen garden is a joy. I look forward to getting an annual pass to see the progress each season, matching my own garden planting in many ways. Paul, the head gardener, was a joy to talk to and his enthusiasm was infectious.
If you are looking for peace, tranquillity, colour, and plenty of nature then Carey's Secret Garden is the perfect place to visit. We had a wonderful time walking through the charming garden spaces, and learning about the projects that were taking place. The staff were very welcoming and informative, and the cake and coffee available at the shop was delicious. Definitely pay a visit to Dorset's best kept secret.
Attended 2 events recently 1. Birds of Poole harbour bird ringing event. What a fantastic morning getting up close to birds suitable for all levels of bird knowledge. Always something new to learn from the BOPH team. Enjoyed the walk outside the walled garden. We have booked our grandson on children's bird ringing event in October. Kiln clay workshop with Debbie in the barn a very enjoyable couple of hours in the barn. All the staff at Carey's secret garden are so friendly. Very tasty coffee & cakes in the little café.
Absolutely love this place A note to people visiting in campervans: the drive is VERY narrow with only a couple of small passing places as I had difficulty getting past one, thank goodness I drive a small car!
If you're seeking peace and tranquility in a beautiful, hidden location, look no further. This garden really does feel like the 'original secret garden'. The Berlin Wall exhibit adds to the experience and not to be missed, what a great idea. Loved it.

A big thank you to all the girls who were working on the evening of 16th December they must have been freezing! There was snow still on the ground and with all the lights it made for a magical place to stroll around. We didn't opt for the £12.50 fondue and it was just as well as the shed was too cold to sit down for long, despite every chair having a blanket. Maybe next year you can sell hot dogs or sausage rolls, something to have with the coffee and mulled cider?
A lovely setting ,gorgeous scenery, peaceful and interesting. The coffee with a brownie after a walk round was perfect. Tge staff were very friendly and helpful too .I would definitely recommend a visit .
What to say? It's an idyllic location, completely unexpected and totally magical. Friendly and knowledgable staff, superb food and drink offering and sustainable products to buy. What a lovely little hideaway, we will definitely be back soon. A huge well done to the team of people who have made this transformation possible
