My 94 year old mother fractured her hip and had a half hip replacement. After her surgery recovery, she was sent to the Fanning Carewest Transitional Rehab program on 2 West. We are so pleased with how she was treated and cared for during her 6 week stay. The Nursing staff and Aides were all so approachable and helpful when I called for updates. When we visited we always found her in clean clothing, her bedding and towels very fresh - she was treated so well she kept saying she wanted to stay. Mom had lost a lot of weight after her surgery, but finally started getting her energy and appetite back because she really liked the food offerings at mealtime. Our deepest thanks and appreciation to all the excellent staff on 2 West for helping our mother get back home to her ASL4 Residence.
The best of compassionate caregivers! Activities Socializing Social Workers who can check on the homefront situation and help make positive changes before returning home. Support at home through Alberta Government Social Services. They stay with the patient all the way!!!! Food is excellent with posted weekly meals and choices. Amazing care from AM to PM and all through the night. My Mom is 91 and had a pulled muscle. They were constantly assisting her. 5 Stars! Thank-you cards for staff on the unit bulletin board reflect the true nature of the excellent quality care given.
Very friendly helpful and efficient staff and doctors well organized taking care of patients/residents kindly and efficiently I am very grateful and impressed Meals are nutritious and healthy sufficient in quantity
I was referred to Carewest, The Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, from the PLC hospital for rehabilitation, after undergoing hip replacement surgery. Albeit, I was only in Care at the Fanning Centre for four days, I would like to share that my experience was phenomenal. The staff, Nurses Doctors, NA and assistants, facility staff, OT and Physio staff, volunteers, provide such an amazing level of patient care I have ever encountered and witnessed. To ALL the staff, thank you so much. Words can never express my gratitude. God bless you all, for all that you do each and every day.
Four years ago I fell & broke my shoulder & was transferred from hospital to this rehab centre . I had a great experience there.nThe staff were terrific & took great care of me for the 2 months I was there. The rooms were were comfortable & the food was generally quite good .There was a daily exercise group weekly bingo & movies to entertain us Thursdays were Free Ice Cream sundaes & Pet Visitation Day which was really fun. I had a cat at home & I really missed him so this was a great distraction for me..I also met some very lovely people Overall I cannot complain. Thanks to all there who contributed to my well being!
