i USED to love this spot, good food, friendly staff. Last time I was in there the lady looked like it was the last place she wanted to be, she seemed surprised when I walked in as if they weren’t expecting anyone. Didn’t greet me at all, she just seemed like she wanted me out of there ASAP. I quickly ordered what I always get, the delicious signature pulled pork. Normally I’m asked what id like on it, banana peppers, pickles, onions things like that. I told the lady I didn’t want mustard, sub mayo instead but everything else was fine and she gave me a weird look and made a comment about wanting mayo on pulled pork. Which isn’t her business it’s a personal preference. I was browsing around a little bit, just looking at things, not really in a rush to go anywhere as it was my day off but she quickly finished making the sandwich and then pressed me for “anything else?? Anything else?? Anything else??” I was thinking of getting the pistachio ice cream which is my favourite and asked if they still sold it and she didn’t even respond, just pointed to the freezer. I didn’t end up buying one and she seemed annoyed I even asked. Finally, done feeling completely uncomfortable in the shop with her and I get into my car and unwrap my sandwich that I’ve been looking forward to for so long, and it tasted like the worst, most bland, soggy sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Careit used to my one of my favourite spots but I will not be going back ever again due to this terrible experience.
Care It Crestwood is amazing! My husband and I were lucky to get a gift card and were able to use it on ribs, Cajun chicken, twice baked potatoes, and top sirloin steak. The ribs were fall off the bone, the chicken was so flavourful & the potatoes and steak was like a high end steakhouse prepared at home. The staff were kind and knowledgeable and had excellent suggestions of preparation techniques and food pairings. We look forward to our next visit! Thank you!
Used to be my goto spot but it has changed so much. Their customer service is garbage now and quality of food went down hill. Cam should consider branching off again !
Everything I've had from here, with the exception of the chicken cordon bleu VERY DRY has been absolutely phenomenal. It all tastes fresh, and homemade. The pricing isn't too bad in my opinion, but this is by no means a cheap place to grab food. The staff are what make it though. Always a pleasure!
We ordered Christmas Dinner and were very pleased. Everything was very tasty and seasoned perfectly. This gave us more time for family. Thank you Careit Urban Deli for a very impressive and successful holiday dinner!
Care It is my absolute favorite place to get a sandwich in Edmonton. I have been a loyal customer starting at their now closed Macewan University location, then onto their now closed Fox Towers location. My first disappointment was when they stopped doing sandwich stamp cards back at fox Towers. I had saved up two and then found I couldn't use them. Care It's turkey sandwhich held a strong place in my heart so I just accepted that I would pay full price for it, and skip on the expensive salad sometimes. I love their sandwiches and apple/feta/cranberry salad so much that I now drive to the 142 st location. Their grocery items are good quality and ever delicious, but I just can't afford them. My greatest heartbreak caused by Care It recently is when I tried to order off Skip the Dishes because I don't live near any of their locations anymore and cant always make the drive to the 142 st location. I placed my order every day for three days last week, with them cancelling it everytime. I would get excited to have my sandwich for lunch, and save the salad for dinner. But it never happened. Since then, they have been unavailable for order on Skip the Dishes. I check everyday hoping, to no avail. If you're near them, I can vouch for their delicious sandwiches. Their groceries are affordable for those who live in the rich neighborhood around them, but not for anyone making the drive. You can't seem to order from them. I have been loyal to them for years, and I have been deeply disappointed by them too. :
Okay, this is hands down the best deli I've been to in Edmonton. The employees are amongst the best.
Came to pick up some food today and was given horrid attitude when asking if food had any allergens in it by the two women working. We had to go back to return some food due to poor quality. Staff would not refund the purchase and were incredibly rude. Staff said that 3 people quit on them- I can see why with that disrespectful attitude- I wouldn’t want to work there either! Worth going to if you want some subpar food with a side of terrible customer service. What a shame- this place used to be a staple for our family but I guess that’s what happens when there’s a change in ownership and quality along with customer service are no longer a part of their values. Looking forward to letting friends and family know so they don’t have to endure the same treatment.
This place has terrible customer service. The owner, Louie, working here has no remorse and yells at all their customers. Kids here come sometimes, and they are all treated horribly. The workers are kicking people out and they could be potential customers. HORRIBLE SERVICE. HORRIBLE PRICES, HORRIBLE FOOD. If I could give you guys 0 stars, I would. NEVER come here.
I buy from Careit at least twice monthly, for years, awesome food and service IMHO and experience. Recent I picked up marinated rib eye steaks for the BBQ nothing like BBQ'ing in the cold. These steaks were amongst the best steaks I have had... and I have had steak in every corner of this wonderful province of Alberta. Wow and THANKS!
